Job Description

The Finance Administrative Assistant will use independent judgment and discretion to provide administrative support to the SVP Controller, SVP Financial Planning & Business Operations, and all departments within TEGNA Finance. This will include handling some basic office accounting functions (invoices, check requests, purchasing card transactions). The Finance Administrative Assistant will work closely with the CFO's Executive Assistant and will be the primary backup to this role. TEGNA's headquarters is located at The Boro in Tysons, VA (Hybrid onsite/remote work schedule).

Responsibilities:
• Provide administrative support to Finance departments (Accounting, Consolidations, Investor Relations, Treasury, Tax, and FP&A)
• Handle calendar requests for senior VPs and schedule meetings as needed
• Prepare and submit expense reports and travel arrangements for Finance departments
• Schedule and coordinate on-site meetings
• Handle invoice coding for FP&A department
• Manage travel card in Oracle and monthly purchasing card transactions
• Submit check requests
• Moderate monthly Finance meetings
• Plan and host teambuilding activities, birthdays, and other events
• Request and distribute Certificate of Insurance for GL, property, and Vehicles; maintain and update vehicle listing in SharePoint
• Assemble annual budget binders and quarterly Closing Binders
• Assist with quarter close deliverables, earnings release and investor outreach process
• Process quarterly Representation Letters – send out to station executives, update reporting calendars
• Handle facility and IT related requests (i.e., temperature, toner for copiers)
• Open, scan and distribute office mail (i.e., Tax, Payroll, Accounts Payable); order office supplies; answer phones, forward detailed messages
• Primary backup support for Executive Assistant to CFO

Job Requirements:

Requirements:
• College degree (or equivalent) plus minimum of 3-4 years' relevant work experience
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organization skills, ability to work on multiple projects for different managers and track multiple deadlines with little follow-up
• Strong MS Office skills, including Excel proficiency and advanced PowerPoint skills, with ability to learn new technologies
• Excellent interpersonal skills, self-starter needing little supervision, demonstrate consistent follow-through, judgment and time management skills

• Knowledge of basic office accounting and financial processes

Work Environment: Office/Hybrid
