Job Description
WHAS 11 in Louisville is searching for an Executive Producer to join our team. It's the city that hosts the Kentucky Derby, the Bourbon trail, and often March Madness. It's also a big news city, with a strong culture of local journalism. This person must be a creative, motivational, and experienced newsroom leader. You'll work with a team of producers, reporters, photographers and digital staff to create impactful content that is highly engaging and memorable.

Responsibilities:
• Coordinates and oversees daily newsgathering efforts, oversees morning newscast.
• Assigns daily stories and projects to reporters, anchors, photographers, and digital team and monitors the progress of story development throughout the evening.
• Focuses on accuracy and strong writing in scripts, copy editing and closely working with reporters to create accurate, informative, and engaging content.
• Approves all on air scripts prior to news broadcasts.
• Aggressively covers breaking news for all platforms.
• Works with entire team to produce engaging storytelling through strong writing, visuals, use of sound, graphics, and other production techniques.
• Works with editorial team on developing best practices and innovating our newscasts.
Requirements:
• 2+ years newsroom leadership experience preferred as a Senior Producer or EP.
• Knowledge of Edius, photojournalism, editing, and content management systems a plus
• Excellent copy editing skills
• A desire and demonstrated ability to lead other journalists
• Strong organizational, motivational, and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and lead change
