Job Description

The morning show editor position is critical to the success of THV11's Wake Up Central. In this role you must create compelling new ways to visually tell stories on a tight deadline. You must be a self-starter who is technologically savvy as well. The ability to adhere to brand guidelines and standards is also a must. We are looking for someone with a passion for telling important stories to our community through great video and presentation.

Responsibilities:
• Editing and producing interesting and impactful video every day and on deadline for 2 and half hour morning show
• Produce original content on-air and on all digital platforms that evoke emotion and tell compelling stories.
• Use creative production techniques such as graphics and new forms of media (viewer pictures, webcam interviews, etc.) to enhance stories.
• Work closely with news producers, reporters, photojournalists, and the digital team to create the best morning show around
• Must be able to work early mornings

Job Requirements:

Requirements:
• Knowledge of non-linear editing systems using Edius,
• Interested in producing high quality broadcast and digital news content
• Organizational skills and the ability to work under deadline pressure
• Excellent communication skills
• Must be deadline-oriented, maintaining quality while staying on tight schedules
• BA/BS degree preferred
• 1-2 years video editing experience preferred
