• Maintain and grow relationships with key sources: Build strong ties with public information officers, community leaders, and newsmakers.
• Manage field logistics: Schedule crews, coordinate live shots, and ensure the right tools and resources are in place for seamless execution.
• Serve as the central communication hub: Ensure clarity and consistency between newsroom teams across all platforms - broadcast, digital, and streaming.
• Track down and confirm information quickly and accurately to support our storytelling on air, online, and across all First Coast News social platforms.
• Write and edit copy for both broadcast and digital platforms using Associated Press style.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a newsroom environment, ideally in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of news gathering, newsroom workflows, and editorial priorities.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with the ability to work calmly under pressure.
• Proficiency in newsroom systems, including content management and planning tools.
• A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to write clearly and accurately under deadline pressure using AP style.
• Strong instincts for identifying credible sources and confirming information efficiently.
Benefits:
