ABC24 News, the TEGNA station in Memphis, TN, is looking for a talented journalist to join our team as a morning show Anchor and Multiskilled Journalist. Our station is the fastest growing news source in the market, and we need someone who will help us continue this growth.

We believe an Anchor should be one of the strongest storytellers in the building, this role is anchoring and reporting.

We are looking for someone who is a leader and wants to take ownership of their show. Someone who can create unique, shareable, and compelling stories for all platforms. We want someone who is willing to collaborate with management and the morning show team to create content that best serves our morning show audience.

Candidates should have examples of strong anchoring, breaking news reporting, and creative storytelling. We need someone who is deeply committed to local news, a natural competitor-wanting to consistently break lead stories in the Memphis market, and loves covering breaking news and weather and seeking out solutions for our community.

Responsibilities:
• Anchor 5-7 a.m., Midday newscasts, and cut-ins, along with any breaking news either on-air or on our digital platforms.
• Generate viewer and brand focused story/show ideas and content.
• Deliver stories on-air/digital platforms in an engaging, informative, and conversational manner.
• Excellent use of social media for news gathering/disseminating and community engagement.
• Produce short-and-long form community content/specials for multiple platforms.
• Work with management, producers, and reporters to create an engaging newscast, write and copy edit to improve all content every day.
• Represent ABC24 Memphis at community events.
• Perform other tasks as required by management.
• Take leadership role in newscast production with strong news judgement.

Job Requirements:
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as a reporter in small and medium markets.
• At least 1 year of anchoring experience.
• Strong on-camera delivery with the ability to ad-lib.
• Excellent, creative presentation and writing skills.
• Must be able to report in a broad range of styles with good on-air/live presentation skills.
• Organizational skills and the ability to work under constant time pressure deadlines.
• Strong social media presence.
• Prior experience as a people leader with strong leadership qualities and ability to motivate and engage team members on multiple projects.
• Passion for being involved in the community and ability to build new connections.
• Innovative mindset that generates creative solutions on projects.
