• Ensuring the department delivers a high level of service
• Working with Department Managers, Head of Software and Head of Operations to increase the productivity and efficiency of the department
• Liaising with HR, Recruitment and Resource Manager
• Assist with the management of new starters, welcoming them the department.
• Responsible for employee welfare management, conversations and reporting of employee presence in the studio/WFH (logging of hours, time off, vacations and sickness).
• Administering team members' performance including formal reviews (in partnership with Leads and Heads of department).
• Providing a comfortable working environment, keeping staff motivated and engaged
• Helping to spearhead team building initiatives
• Assist the HoD and DM in succession planning for the department.
• Ensuring project management and reporting standards are met and assisting with department reporting overall
• Assisting with stakeholder negotiations and casting for projects
• Monitoring progress of projects and taking ownership of issues that arise to ensure they are communicated and resolved
• Ensuring compliance with global operational standards
• Promote communication between colleagues for the benefit of information flow.
• Oversee recruiting activities for the department.
• Day to day resource management for the department, working with the DM to make sure the team has everything it needs to work effectively.
• Work with the DM to adopt, embed and roll out company initiatives within the department.

Qualifications
• Experience managing software projects and working with developers would be an advantage
• Experience with common project mgmt. tools and methodologies
• Experience with and understanding of Agile practice
• An understanding of the software development lifecycle
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• A strong commitment to service, quality and reliability
• A personable nature who knows how to be upbeat and motivate teams in times of delivery and crunch
• A degree in vfx or software engineering would be an advantage
• Experience in production or department management in VFX or games would be an advantage
