Film Production Accountant / Bidding Accountant

Job Description

Our VFX artists are world leaders in this highly specialised industry. This role will be based in Los Angeles.

This position will be reporting to Senior Manager – Financial Planning & Analysis and Strategy and will look after several aspects of Film Finance. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Collaborate with Management as a Finance Lead in New Business decision-making and strategic planning and identify areas of optimizing project margins
• Analyze headcount projections to determine capacity utilization by site into order to assist in defining and implementing New Business strategy
• Provide technical expertise as a Finance Lead to New Business team
• Act as final check point in financial review and analysis of client bids/documents
• Building and maintaining data sheets for use by various departments across the business
• Manage all financial aspects of production accounting including biding, cost tracking, variance analysis, forecasting Estimated Final Cost and profit analysis for departments based in LA
• Prepare monthly revenue recognition and revenue forecast as a part of month-end close process
• Determine Key Performance Indicators and provide other ad hoc analysis
• Provide ad-hoc administrative support in local operations

Qualifications

Technical Knowledge/Skills:
• Advances Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc..) and abilities to create and work in complex financial models
• Proficient in Microsoft Work and Outlook
• VFX industry knowledge is an asset, but not required

Experience:
• Postgraduate degree in Finance/Accounting or related field
• Minimum 4-5 years relevant work experience
