Summary:

The Comp TD is responsible for technically supporting the comp team through the development of custom nuke tools, supporting individual artists and trouble shooting their nuke scripts when they need help. They will also work closely with the Comp. Supervisors at the beginning of shows to make sure our standard tools are working correctly and to make any show specific adjustments. The comp TD should always be aiming to standardize our nuke approach to comp where possible. This is a cross show position.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Debugging artists nuke scripts when they run into speed/render issues.
• Suggesting efficient ways to work in Nuke e.g. the Nuke Compositors Bible! Running refresher classes to present this.
• Working with HOD to standardize nuke tools across shows.
• Working with HOD & Comp Supes to adjust or create new tools based on the needs of a show.
• Trouble shooting existing nuke tools.
• Help setting up INMF template at the beginning of shows.
• Attend comp software meetings.
• Liaise with comp TDs at other sites to share info about current and new tools/practices.
• Working with the Stereo leads to support DN tools.

Qualifications

Technical Knowledge/Skills:
• A solid background in compositing for long-form projects.
• High level understanding of Linux/Unix-based operating systems.
• Thorough knowledge of Nuke Python scripting.
• Proven technical expertise within Nuke.
• Thorough understanding and experience with Grading, keying, CG comping, element integration and final finish.
• 4 years of experience with a high-level film-based compositing system.
• Previous experience using Python scripting language.
