Join our Tastemade UK team as an Payroll and People Operations Lead working with our team based in London. This role will oversee people's experience, process and compliance for our team. This position will be responsible for a wide array of duties from employee support to onboarding and payroll compliance and recruitment support. You will help facilitate key employee-life-cycle and operational activities in partnership with the Head of People Operations and the Managing Director.

What you'll
• Support the overall business strategy by helping to identify, prioritise, and build organisational capabilities, behaviours, structures and processes
• Manage key recruiting, headcount documentation, onboarding, employee life cycle and end to end payroll including compliance obligations with HMRC
• Spearhead the assessment, selection and successful implementation of a payroll software capable of time tracking, compliance submissions, IR35, and documentation requirements
• Work closely with the Head of Production to implement effective time tracking of short term employees as well as IR35 and Brexit compliance needs
• Advise individuals and people managers on employee relation activity such as probations, performance improvement plans, maternity/paternity leave, other business matters.
• Provide a great onboarding experience for Full Time, Fixed Term, and contract employees.
• Deliver people reporting with data analysis on key activities such as engagement, turnover, and well-being
• Support diversity and inclusion, corporate social responsibility and other HR operational projects as identified for your designated teams.
• Lead culture committee and overall workplace experience
• Understand employee opinions and experiences; provide a point of view and anticipate needs and address concerns proactively
• Liaise with the HMRC in payroll related matters
• Ensure payroll/ employee related surveys and compliance requests from HMRC are submitted in a timely manner.
• Liaise with third party accounting firm (our current payroll partner) and Outbenz (our Health Benefits Provider) to ensure a seamless onboarding and offboarding experience

What you'll bring:
• Experience in UK (and/or EU) employment law
• Payroll Technician Certificate (CIPP) or similar
• CIPP Qualified (preferable)
• 4+ years payroll experience specifically regarding short term employee contracts
• 2+ years of HR generalist working experience
• Experience in a media/ production environment a plus
• Experience selecting and implementing a payroll software solution
• Google Suite, MS Suite, and other technology platform tools proficiency
• Comprehensive HR knowledge, especially hands-on and EU/global experience a plus
• Curious problem solver with a point of view that proactively solutions and resolves issues
• Self-motivated, detail oriented, diligent, responsive, responsible, accountable, and resilient
• High EQ and interpersonal skills. Builds relationships with a diverse group of global colleagues
• Resourceful, detailed, analytical and responsive in a high paced environment. Strong sense of urgency with a 'let's / can do' attitude
• Experience in employee relations, performance management, people manager advice and general HR programme/operations
