POSITION OVERVIEW
The Coordinator, Legal Operations and Paralegal provides comprehensive administrative and paralegal support to the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel. This role ensures the efficient operation of the Legal Department through careful coordination of department activities, contract management, and legal support work. The Coordinator helps the Legal team stay connected and efficient by coordinating communication, tracking tasks and deadlines, and managing its operational and recordkeeping needs.
Working collaboratively with the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel, this position also acts as a liaison within the organization for legal inquiries, maintaining clarity in processes, and supporting the department�s work to ensure compliance, risk management, and organizational integrity.
This temporary position works full time (40 hours per week) from Wednesday, August 13, 2025 through Friday, February 27, 2026. This is a remote role that may be based out of any of our operating states. Extended hours, including evenings and weekends will be required at key points to meet deadlines and respond to on-call needs as assigned. Travel to Sundance Institute offices and events may be required.
Top priorities include, but are not limited to...
• Providing proactive administrative support to the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, drafting correspondence, basic research or proofreading, arranging travel, and processing expenses.
• Performing substantive paralegal tasks such as drafting contracts, NDAs, and licensing agreements, maintaining contract templates, researching statutes, regulations, or ordinances.
• Assisting with the contract intake process: preparing drafts, routing for approvals, issuing contracts via DocuSign, and organizing and maintaining records in the contract management system.
• Supporting Legal Department operations, including coordinating meetings, taking and distributing minutes, tracking assignments, and ensuring timely responses to internal inquiries.
• Collaborating across teams (HR, Finance, Operations) to support classification reviews, contract compliance, and training on proper role classifications.
• Creating a master checklist with all routine legal tasks for the upcoming fiscal year.
You have the following direct or transferable skill sets:
• 2 years of administrative support, project coordination, or paralegal experience, including contract drafting, document management, or supporting attorneys in legal operations.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace; familiarity with DocuSign or contract management systems preferred.
• Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
