Summary of Position

The Sr. Manager/Director, Distribution Marketing maximizes STARZ subscribers and revenue through marketing, promotional and point-of- sale campaigns that position STARZ services with Partner Distributors (MVPDs, vMVPDs, OTT, Mobile) on a national and local level. This role leads and executes creative marketing strategies to create consumer demand, increase subscribers, encourage viewership, and earn recognition for STE and its products and services across affiliated Distributors. The Sr. Manager/Director, Distribution Marketing works with STE consumer marketing, public relations and research teams to build the Starz brand story and to showcase the strength of STARZ programming and product value in B2B communications and consumer marketing with distribution partners. This position connects and curates STARZ programming and brand strategy to lower funnel marketing, anticipating how content can be leveraged to acquire and retain subscribers, working with internal teams to take base information (creative, content, talent) and develop unique, strategic plans with partners.

Responsibilities
• Collaborates with the sales and account management teams to develop, execute, and analyze partner marketing plans and programs, both short and long-range, to ensure revenue and subscriber growth and expansion of company products and/or services with partner MVPDs

• Works closely with internal departments to leverage synergies to maximize promotion of STARZ Original Series via partner promotional channels.

• Communicates Distribution marketing priorities, creative needs and campaign spending to internal departments; ensures alignment of creative assets with partner marketing objectives.

• Summarizes and communicates key brand, programming and consumer marketing updates to Distribution team. Creates and maintains community resources and marketing assets for the Distribution team.

• Establishes and nurtures relationships with partner marketing teams and agencies to drive campaign activity across acquisition, upgrade and/or retention campaigns, programming, new product and/or packaging launches, retail, web, sales channels, etc.

• Manages marketing funds and collaborates on monthly budget review, reconciliation, and planning in tandem with accounting and finance

• Initiates and reviews LOAs, vendor contracts, sweepstakes rules, contest rules, creative, etc. Ensures partner marketing initiatives are consistent with brand positioning, marketing strategies, messaging objectives, and adhere to legal compliance

• Oversees partner participation in PR and consumer-facing events, working closely with corporate internal PR and Consumer teams

• Establishes and maintains scalable processes that ensure best practices throughout campaign management. Anticipates and communicates increased creative work flows to help modulate and staff for high demand periods.

• Manages & guides creative process for developing distribution presentations

• Responsible for understanding traditional and emerging market trends and conditions (including technology), and acquiring MVPD/industry intelligence in order to draw conclusions and make recommendations to advance growth

• Fosters an environment of constant experimentation and learning to improve impact and return on marketing investment

• Oversees Manager and Coordinator roles and skillfully communicate expectations to assigned staff and deliver regular, specific, and objective feedback. Execute administrative tasks and conduct formal check-ins and performance reviews as directed by Human Resources.

• Increases team and individual marketing efforts by inspiring, motivating, and guiding others towards business and personal goal accomplishments

• Maintains constant awareness of the direction and manage status of all projects, including anticipating needs and conflicts that unexpectedly evolve

Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor Degree, Marketing preferred

• Minimum seven years' experience and established record of success as a senior marketing professional; minimum of five years of industry experience preferred.

• Minimum four years experience working with consumer marketing initiatives

• Minimum three years experience working in digital marketing and social media

• Web production and digital design experience required.

• Public relations and events experience highly desirable.

• Strong knowledge of multi-platform marketing initiatives with major video distributors including: VOD, TVE and OTT products.

• Strong knowledge of MVPD, OTT and Mobile providers' platforms including different user interfaces and user experience

• Must have strong interpersonal skills to develop and communicate vision and motivate employees while achieving company's overall objective.

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, flexibility and endurance are needed to multi-task across many projects with varying deadlines.

• Self-motivated and detail oriented, with excellent time-management skills, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to function well in a collaborative, team oriented environment.

• Ability to think independently, articulate thoughts and recommend solutions in a productive manner

• Must have a strong work ethic, integrity, and good business acumen.

• Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and experience with Adobe Acrobat. Experience in using InDesign, Photoshop and SharePoint preferred.

• Master's Degree in Business Administration preferred

• Experience managing a team preferred

Compensation

$134,640 - $164,230 (Director) / $97,125 - 117,495 (Sr. Manager)
