Summary of Position

The Programming Specialist manages a high volume of movie and series content for subscribers across the STARZ services, including digital products, On Demand and linear channels. The Programming Specialist plans content within the parameters set by the business rules and contractual requirements tied to the content.

Responsibilities
• Manage and comply with a dynamic set of content planning parameters including, but not limited to, studio contract rules, affiliate contract requirements, and internal business rules.

• Primary focus on planning non-linear services with secondary focus on planning linear channels.

• Generate non-linear title volume, refresh rate, and inventory analysis reports on a monthly basis.

• Assist with content smoothing for linear channels, ensuring a balance of strength and variety month-to-month and adjusting for changes in inventory levels.

• Coordinate with Business Affairs when license windows are changed or terminated and to reconcile window discrepancies within content management systems.

• Assist in modeling new non-linear products and services based on existing inventory and limitations.

• Communicate linear scheduling changes to guides services through Change Memos.

• Assist in screening Original and acquired content and assigning TV ratings and content advisories.

• Update Nielsen schedules to reflect current linear and VOD schedules.

• Ensure weekly delivery of online and On Demand content meets all Quality Control and Encoding deadlines.

• Perform User Acceptance Testing for the current planning & scheduling systems, as needed.

• Other business operations, as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor's degree preferred; Minimum two years related experience and/or training; And/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Extremely detail-oriented and organized, with problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to multi-task.

• Strong written communication skills.

• Excellent math skills.

• Strong Microsoft Office proficiency, specifically Excel.

• Thorough knowledge of motion picture and television productions including current theatrical releases and general film.

• Experience in scheduling and planning modules a plus.
