Sr. Analyst, International Research

The Content Strategy & Product Management team at Sony Pictures Entertainment is looking for a Sr International Research Analyst to contribute to the marketing research and content research capabilities of the team. The Sr Analyst will report to the Director of International Research and provide data-driven actionable insights to support global marketing positioning for B2B sales, content evaluation and other strategic business decisions for stakeholders primarily across the international distribution division.

The ideal qualities required for the position are the ability to leverage varied data resources to provide clear and concise research insights that lead to impactful marketing and sales messaging, proficiency at managing multiple projects and deadlines at once while consistently communicating on expectations with executive-level internal stakeholders, and the ability to take the initiative and reimagine existing deliverables to maximize efficiency and impact.
• Craft tailored research decks and reports, leveraging varied data sources (eg. International linear TV ratings, streaming data, consumer research, industry reports), to Support the global Marketing team in title positioning for global B2B sales, including for new series, library content and custom packages.
• Provide research-based evaluations of potential content to assess international potential, determine IP or talent appeal and support greenlights and acquisitions of targeted titles for executives in the Content Strategy & Product Management team.
• Provide global touchpoint on current title performance, leveraging regional research resources and responding to ad-hoc requests for global talking points on Sony titles from other departments.
• Develop a high degree of knowledge on the global entertainment industry, tracking key US and foreign TV and film content, and sharing insights with stakeholders on industry trends, and emerging content genres and themes.
• Collaborate with other research and analytics centers within SPT and across regions in assessing and leveraging new data resources, tools and processes

Skills Required:
• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in an analytics capacity within TV or digital mediums
• Preferred 1-2 years of experiencing working in global entertainment
• Bachelor's degree required
• Expert proficiency in Microsoft Powerpoint, Excel and Word
• Knowledge of an array of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and foundational understanding of Marketing processes
• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to turn data into meaningful findings and develop decision-ready recommendations
• Skilled at data visualization and strong verbal and written communication skills, in order to convey insights in a clear and digestible way
• Must be highly organized and adept at multi-tasking as well as self-driven and able to manage multiple priorities with a high degree of autonomy
• Detail-oriented and with a commitment to maintaining quality and accuracy, demonstrating professionalism and integrity in all situations
• Passion to continuously learn more about US and international TV and film content spanning genres, formats and provenance is important
• Able to work collaboratively and build relationships with peers and executive-level internal stakeholders in other departments
• Expert proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint and experience with Tableau
• Knowledge of international entertainment ratings tools like EMS, ITVR and TechEdge preferred
