Software Engineer

Introduction

Sony Pictures Screeners Team is seeking a highly motivated and passionate Backend NodeJS Developer to join our team, which is responsible for building and maintaining a wide range of services and applications.

As a member of our team you will help support our distributed systems of Node Backend services using JavaScript. You will focus on the development and maintenance of new and existing APIs which are consumed by web and mobile applications within the company.

Responsibilities
- Work closely with teammates to ensure high quality code
- Build, test and maintain node services within our domain
- Own development, quality, and maintenance of services released
- Adhere to best practices and standards
- Write unit tests (TDD/BDD)
- Problem solving

Technical Skills Required
- 2+ years Nodejs API development
- 2+ years Professional Nodejs Development in any capacity
- 2+ years NoSQL Databases (Mongo, Dynamo, etc)
- Experience developing APIs for use in a single page app or mobile applications
- Experience developing standalone engines/middleware using NodeJS
- Experience using Git source control

Beneficial Experience
- Engineering Graduate
- AWS experience (Lambda, ApiGateWay, SNS, SQS, etc)
- Video encoding/transcoding
- Mobile experience
- FrontEnd experience
