The Role
We are looking to recruit an experienced marketing professional who has a passion for and understanding of the television market in the UK to develop and implement marketing strategies that will deliver audience growth for Sony networks portfolio of Movie and Entertainment channels.
The Senior Marketing Manager post will be responsible for the marketing strategy of the entire portfolio of Movies and Entertainment channels working closely and collaboratively with the channel heads, channel managers, programming team and creative managers across the business to drive the channels forward. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of an annual marketing budget and the management of key third party relationships/service contracts including PR and Media Planning/Buying.
Key Responsibilities include:
• To develop and implement marketing and communication strategies which deliver growth to the UK channel portfolio across all metrics.
• Work in partnership with colleagues across the UK Networks business including VP Movies & Ents, Commercial Director and Creative Director to ensure a clear and consistent strategy is set for every channel and business opportunity across the portfolio.
• Manage and allocate the ATL and BTL budget for the entire portfolio of channels, including media, social, PR + promotions & events budget and approval final campaign expenditure.
• Ensure all media, digital and creative agencies are approaching the networks business challenge holistically and proactively, coming up with proposals to deliver greater economies of scale, learnings and creative solutions across our portfolio of channels
• To negotiate terms and manage relationships with all key agency & media partners
• To liaise with other territory teams and central SPT marketing teams to ensure the UK channels are receiving timely and relevant central support
• Ensure industry insight, future trends and competitor tracking are utilized to drive new and innovative campaign planning
• To oversee agencies organizing special events, press/product launches and internal promotional events
• Produce strong written briefs for agencies and third parties to ensure they deliver to the movies and ents portfolios brand values & objectives
• Line management and development of the Movies and Ents Marketing Intern
Qualifications and/or Experience Required
• Typically, 4-7 years broadcast marketing experience in the UK market
• Deep knowledge of and demonstrable ability to develop and implement media planning strategies and understand audience research trends to optimize viewing reach and deliver commercial targets
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and guide senior level stakeholders
• Demonstrable creative thinking skills
• Knowledge of UK and international TV and multi-media marketplaces
• Experience of working with and managing third party service agencies
