SPE Finance is currently transforming the organization from a Line of Business and territory orientation to one which is global, enterprise-based, and focused on process improvement, standardization, reducing complexity and the use of technology.

The global finance organization (GFO)'s objectives are to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the overall team while enhancing the value and accessibility of the data created by the accounting processes which will enable the commercial teams to drive toward greater revenue growth and margin improvements.

The mission of the RTR GFO is overall responsibility for SPE's accounting, financial reporting and related analysis functions coupled with continuous improvement, standardization and simplification of those functions and outputs. The GFO is the liaison between SPE's outsource provider, Capgemini, and SPE's lines of business. The RTR GFO serves as an agent of change, communication, design and problem-solving.

Roles & Responsibilities

This is a newly created position based in our Singapore office and will oversee the RTR function with the focus on the statutory and tax compliance matters in South East Asia with liaison between GFOs, Divisional Finance, Global Statutory and Tax group, Global Tax Office, Capgemini and professional firms.

Specific Responsibilities
• Work closely with professional firms to manage yearly statutory audits, tax audits, annual tax return filings, quarterly indirect tax filings and other statutory compliance reporting for Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines and Taiwan.
• Coordinate with our global tax office and submit the accurate internal quarterly tax reporting and other required tax related reporting across the region.
• Drive statutory & tax reporting process improvement and efficiency and at the same time maintaining strong corporate governance across the region and the line of businesses.
• Standardize the statutory reporting by implementing Onesource program across the region.
• Ensure finance goals such as timely and error-free finance closings, clean statutory audits and strong internal control and SOX compliance.
• Work closely with professional firms for tax projects including transfer pricing across the region.
• Ensure the integrity in our books by reviewing the entries processed by Capgemini staff and manage financial close analysis for the territories without GFOs.

Candidate Requirements
• Typically a minimum of 7-10 year-experience with the Big 4 with exposure in statutory and tax reporting for Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore (and other SEA territories)
• Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting, with a CPA or equivalent professional qualification
• Knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS and SEA local GAAPs.
• Excellent written and verbal skills and fluency in English. Mandarin skill is a plus.
• Strong team player and comfortable working with people from different cultural background and in different time zones.
• Strong organizational skills
• Systematic problem-solving skills and mindset
• Ability to live with uncertainty
• Proficient with Microsoft applications.
• Experience in SAP S4 is preferable
