Corporate divisional finance is currently looking for a unique individual to be a key player in the newly formed Corporate FP&A - Analytics & Reporting department. We are focused on creating value for our internal clients by streamlining our financial reporting and enhancing our analytics capabilities-all with the goal of improving our data-driven decision-making.

A little bit about our organization:

The Culver City corporate divisional finance department for Sony Pictures Entertainment keeps the divisional leaders (General Counsel, CPO, CCO, CIO, etc.) apprised of all finance related matters for their group(s), primarily ensuring that a strong financial discipline and analysis is in place to support the division in achieving its goals and objectives. The team has responsibility for delivering management reporting for the division including budgets, forecasts, variance analysis, etc. as well as ad hoc reporting and analysis including decision support.

• CFO Corporate Groups: Information Technology, Finance, Global Real Estate and Facilities, Procurement, Information Security and Administrative Services
• P&O (HR)
• General Counsel Groups
• Corporate Developments
• Corporate Communications
• Sony Innovation Studios

The successful candidate for the Senior Manager, Corporate FP&A role based in Los Angeles will be responsible for providing financial reporting and analysis in support of senior management and other SPE business units, as well as interacting with colleagues globally. Your constant focus on problem solving and delivering solutions will help our department become an indispensable partner to all stakeholders.

Responsibilities
• Report directly to VP Corporate FP&A and manage 1-2 direct reports
• Drive continual improvement in budget and forecasting processes to expand data-driven decision-making
• Develop, maintain and manage advanced reporting, analytics and dashboards that provide actionable insight into the levers of the business
• Oversee the preparation of the financial budgets, quarterly forecasts, and MRP functions with primary focus on providing financial analysis and insights
• Track performance relative to budgets and forecasts, review actual results and concisely explain variances against budgets and forecasts based on commercial and operating drivers
• Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate monthly/quarterly financial results presentations that provide important insights and participate in executive review meetings
• Liaise with accounting team to improve availability and flow of information
• Develop and manage reporting from Apptio to assist with financial oversight of IT initiatives and cost allocations
• Support development of SAP-based corporate overhead planning tool
• Lead or directly support operating management with ad hoc financial, market and trend analyses to prioritize strategic initiatives or investment decisions
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with Finance team leads to ensure their financial reporting support needs are met to allow for analysis and insights
• Develop team members' careers and professional development

Requirements:

First and foremost, we are looking for an exceptional individual with strong intellectual, critical thinking, decision making, team leadership, humility, honesty and analytical and financial skills. Ideally you will have spent a portion of your career in a financial role supporting Corporate or centralized-support departments, preferably in the media and entertainment industry.

More specifically, you should meet many, if not all of the following requirements:
• Minimum 5 years of FP&A experience; Entertainment Industry / Media experience preferred
• Management experience, including managing, developing and leading staff
• In-depth experience with enterprise planning systems (eg. SAP, Hyperion, etc.) and business intelligence tools (eg. SAP BW, Power BI, Tableau, Microstrategy, Essbase, etc.) required; additional experience with Technology Business Management tools (eg. Apptio, etc.) preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting, Business or Economics; MBA and/or CPA preferred
• Expert Excel and financial modeling skills
• Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects
• Change agent adept at successfully challenging the status quo
• Excellent communication skills especially with non-Finance individuals
• Critical thinker with excellent written and verbal communication, and executive meeting presence, and can communicate effectively with senior operational and financial management
