Senior Auditor

Accountable for completing areas assigned for various financial, operational, integrated SOX audits and ad-hoc projects at Risk and Control Department responsible for SPE's global operations. Provides audit status to the Director and completed workpapers for review and sign-off.

Job Requirements:
• Responsible for the completion of engagement planning, including planning meetings with the Director and preparing test sheets that address the objectives and risks of the audit.
• Assign audit areas to all team members in the audit (including the Manager).
• Manage the completion of assigned areas for audits, SOX, and projects with minimal supervision.
• Responsible for the day-to-day management of teams/projects assigned to.
• Demonstrate professional skepticism during audits and critical assessment of audit evidence.
• Identify key controls for the assigned areas and identify when there are control weaknesses (in the design or operating effectiveness of the control) or control gaps.
• Execute audit test plans (narrative, walkthrough, testing as applicable) for assigned areas effectively and timely and manage the audit team to ensure they are executing their test plan effectively and timely.
• Identify issues or SOX deficiencies for the assigned areas.
• Meet and discuss audit/project results with entity management.
• Prepare thorough and well-organized workpapers and provide to the Director's review timely
• Continuously update the Director about the status of the audits and discuss any on-going issues/roadblocks.
• Assist Directors in developing the annual audit plan through a thorough risk assessment process
• Manage multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously
• Ensure timely completion of all projects/assignments
• Develop less experienced team members by checking in with them periodically, providing feedback after audits.
• Take responsibility in a leadership role on projects that impact the audit department.

Experience Required:
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in audit or relevant experience
• Understanding of internal controls approach, SOX/COSO practices and US GAAP
• Competency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word
• Experience with data analytics (and tools)

Preferred Skills:
• SAP/ARIBA Knowledge/Experience
• Foreign language proficiency a plus
• Media or Entertainment industry experience is also a plus

Education
• BS/BA in Business, Accounting/Finance or related field
• CPA, CIA or equivalent professional certification preferred
