What will be your mission?

At Sony Pictures, our mission is to connect relevant movie and TV series content to consumers and audiences across transactional, subscription and linear viewing platforms. We're building data products, catalogs, repositories, visualization tools and insights platforms that are used to predict audience preferences and behavior for library and new releases to drive growth of engagement and consumption of Sony produced content. Sony produces franchise brands, such as Spiderman, Men in Black and Jumanji, through to TV franchises such as Breaking Bad, Blacklist and Better Call Saul.
Our Data team is responsible for aggregating millions of consumer data points to build best in class predictive models, consumer trends systems, recommendation engines and more!

The Sr Analyst is responsible for enabling and supporting new and existing data assets across the enterprise to unlock value and drive optimization of data access and usage across SPE in partnership with our business and corporate stakeholders. Data are used to support operational reporting, data science and advanced analytics.

Who are you?

You have a strong commercial analytical background and technical skills in data asset management, cataloguing and querying. You believe that process flows, data profiling, quality management, data integration across disparate data sets are foundational in enabling and driving a culture where data is democratized, accessible and easily interpreted for Sony Pictures to be a consumer-centric, data driven organization.

You will work in the Data Management team within the business and leverage your analytical and technical skills (across sales, consumers) to build process flow diagrams, profile and catalog data assets and support Sony data vendor management.

You care about business process, planning and scoping, data quality, consistency, integration, connectivity across big data sets. You will work with our data science team, our IT team, our strategic analysts and our diverse users across the business. This role will support in the development of data models, catalogs, tools, and technologies to navigate and access the data.

You are data curious and business savvy with a strong background and demonstrated ability to navigate, analyze and catalog large and diverse data sets and be able to illustrate and structure data so that it is meaningful and compelling.

Responsibilities:
• Support in the design of solutions, including data cataloging, to enable data accessibility and usability, data quality, reliability, and data governance, while driving principles of scale, uptime, security and reliability.
• Identify business user requirements by meeting stakeholders, understand user needs, preferences, objectives, and working methods; has experience of how users consume information, including data categorization and labeling.
• Plans and organizes data and information by understanding the end goal, strategy, and target end-user; envision data schema, information structure and features, functionality, and user-interface design; capture user scenarios; support in creation of data models and information structure, work-and dataflow; support in ideation meetings; coordinate with business, IT and data teams.
• Contribut e to the scoping and development process for Analytics and Data Science teams who design and productionalize Machine Learning prototypes, dashboards, business tools and User Interfaces. Advises on data point curation inputs, and data harmonization.
• Cross collaboration to establish information planning of complex data sets across multiple cloud storage solutions and sharing information across business capabilities and functions.
• Use of SQL, aggregate data and build attributes to be utilized for data warehouses /repositories / big data platforms, self-service reporting solutions, scorecards and dashboards on user-level audience and consumer data using analytical and visualization tools.
• Conduct data lifecycle activities: problem identification, hypothesis definition, data integration, data profiling, prototyping and experimentation, data schema design, development, testing and deployment.
• Support new software evaluations
• Support User Acceptance Testing to manage, migrate and support new and existing data sets to cloud platforms for data sandboxes

Requirements:
• 2+ years of experience in Business Analytics, Information Management, Data Architecture/Engineering, Sales, Marketing or Financial analysis, data enablement, data governance/ data management related role with demonstrated experience collaborating with cross-functional parts of organizations and external partners
• 1+ years preferred work experience and familiarity with complex data ecosystems in film, television, media, entertainment, consumer packaged goods or related industries
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Management, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Information Management, Information Systems, Technology, Engineering, Computer Science or other related field from an accredited university
• Advanced knowledge and hands on experience using Microsoft Excel, MS Suite of products skills, business intelligence & visualization tools and/or programming languages (for example: SQL, Tableau, Alteryx, Power BI, R/Shiny, Python, etc.). Experience using data cataloguing tools (for example: Purview, IBM Watson Knowledge Center, Collibra, Alation, etc.), highly preferred

Preferred:
• Self-starter with a passion for data, change enablement and entertainment products
• Agile methodology expertise with ability to rapidly iterate at pace from Scope to Proof of Concept to Production to in-house training, documentation, and implementation
• Understanding of knowledge architecture, data governance and data management – esp. mapping data elements, defining data entities, standards and governance (including compliance and policies), as well as experience with interfacing with internal and external data providers
• Understanding of digital marketing (e.g., campaign management, customer journeys, CDP, CRM, digital asset management) as well as the tools, systems, and underlying data that enables them
• Demonstrated desire and ability to self-learn and up-skill: must have a strong interest to learn and use new software which improves work efficiency and output
• Experience working on cross-functional team projects – also involving IT and external stakeholders
• Strong planning, documentation, and presentation skills
• Strong attention to detail, and sense of urgency and commitment to deadlines
• Skilled in collaboration, enjoys working with others and achieving results as a team
