Residuals Analyst

The Residuals Analyst reports into the Residuals Manager and will perform all residual processes in a timely and accurate manner, in accordance with defined operating procedures. This position is accountable for ensuring that the collection and gathering of all residual setup documents are processed in accordance with Collective Bargaining Agreements as well as providing the residuals leadership team and clients the support and information required to perform their duties. In addition, this position will assist the Director of Residuals to perform SOX due diligence review by running residuals estimates from a third-party hosted system. This position requires the ability to manage a variety of tasks, projects, and ad-hoc research as needed in a fast-paced, time-sensitive and changing environment. This position interacts heavily with various levels of management as well as representatives from an outside payroll service, therefore, excellent communication and organizational skills are a plus.

Responsibilities
• Manage delivery requirements from Production, Legal, and Third-Party Producers for Made for Network, Made for Syndication, Made for Basic Cable (series), and Made of Pay Television, and Game Shows. This requires constant conversation with the stakeholders to fulfill delivery requirements, communication with our international entities (i.e., Left Bank, Playmaker) regarding the residuals delivery requirements, reading and understanding employment contracts, including buyout provisions. Responsible for ensuring full documentation is uploaded to both SPE's repository and Entertainment Partners' (''EP'') portal.
• Research Guild claims and work with Labor Relations to provide information / analysis pertaining to rights and obligations, as well as research Labor questions. Calculate residuals obligation as determined by the Labor attorney. Interact with set-up managers at EP to prepare adjustments as directed by Labor.
• Gather, collate, and analyze streaming data from different stations and assist Director of Payments with uploading sunrise and sunset dates into EP trigger system. Assist the Director of Payments to validate residual payments through entering reuse and receipts information in EP's Hosted Environment system to ensure SOX compliance.
• Review and approve residuals set up prepared by a third-party payroll service (Entertainment Partners) using applicable rules set forth under the Collective Bargaining Agreements for SAG/AFTRA, WGA, DGA, ACTRA, UBCP, MEAA, and British Equity.
• Assist Director of Residuals in running residuals estimate using a third-party application on a quarterly basis during payment validation to satisfy SOX compliance review.

Requirements
• 3-5 years of related residuals experience. Some experience with the financial aspect of the entertainment industry would be helpful.
• Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent work experience
• Basic Accounting principles
• Entertainment Guild (SAG-AFTRA, DGA, WGA, Foreign guilds, etc.) Collective Bargaining Agreements - provisions relating to Residuals calculations and processing
• MS Office – Word and Excel. Ability to create and update basic spreadsheets, including the ability to write intermediate formulas.
• Multi-task and accurately process large amounts of data on a timely basis.
• Work well in a team environment
• Must be able to work independently, plan and prioritize workload and have excellent follow through skills. Detail oriented
• Strong communication skills and ability to convey information both internally and externally.
• High degree of organization, time management, and follow-up skills.
• Knowledge and understand of the timing of payments for various markets to ensure we are not late with payments.
• Ability to work independently, set priorities, and communicate blockers and challenges when identified.
• Working knowledge of Guild agreements and elements of residual calculations. Knowledge of new media provisions and requirements.
• Ability to read and analyze employment agreements with an emphasis on residuals obligations and buyout provisions.
