Music Manager

Job Description

The Music Manager focuses on the Musical proposal for each project. This role requires being the frontline contact with creatives, producers, directors and internal clients and assisting the team in servicing the diverse needs of our professional music clients for our original productions shows in Lat Am.

This role requires excellent music knowledge and extensive comprehension of musical synchronization to video to suggest to the composers and producers the right selection of music for shows.

This Position reports to the Executive Director of Production & Asset Management based in Miami.

Responsibilities:

30% Reading and analyzing Development material to propose to Executive Producers, Directors and Producers to creatively establish the tone of music for the show.
• An experienced musician with knowledge of composition, supervises production or creation of musical scores for original production.
• Organize ideas and provide feedback on Music for the development of new original music to be composed based on production trends and story needs.
• Music supervision and performing music searches for the production team.
• Support production users of music library used by Sony and means of accessing the catalog.
• Providing service to producers including, but not limited to, music searches for the series.

30% Supervise Audio Editors
• Participates in the selection and hiring of musicians and singers for on and off-camera sessions.
• Report and give feedback to producers and Post Directors of audio fails occurred during capture or production process.
• Make sure all creative decision in terms of music synchronization are include in each episode produced.
• Supervise the audio editors ensuring all techs specs have been considered during audio post process.
• Before synchronized the music make sure through Music & Licensing department all songs have all rights to use in the show.
• Work with the producers in order to collect all tracks and songs composed for the series
• Liaise with staff and clients to resolve music access/protools file problems.
• Collecting protools session on audio editors ensuring all requirements are included

10% Provide ideas and updates to optimize the workflow and trends for Music and synchronization process.
• Maintain up-to-date trends in terms of software and news workflow for protools and capture.
• Updates Audio Recommendations guide for Lat Am Production Manual.
• Provide feedback to the new way to solve issues on field in terms of audio capture.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Extensive knowledge and experience in Protools software.
• Expertise sync licensing songs and instrumental music.
• Demonstrated comprehension in music needs for tv series.
• Demonstrated experience working effectively in a diverse environment.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Computer literacy (MS Word & Excel).
• Music business experience preferred synchronization rights
• Excellent work ethic.

Experience: + 5 years of TV Production, audio field

Education: Bachelor's degree in career related with Music, Audio.
