Role

Working simultaneously with 3 west coast teams, the publicity manager works with a small team to implement strategic and innovative publicity campaigns for the life cycle of all Sony Pictures releases. In this role they are responsible for overseeing the New York screening budget, pitching press, talent handling and supporting executives. Many times the manager oversees sentiment report tracking, critics charts and review distribution. Additionally, this role assists the field publicity team to plan and execute New York junkets, press days, character tours, film festivals, fan events and convention participation logistics. A manager should be knowledgeable about the film industry and demonstrate ability to work with various levels of talent, filmmakers, press, executives, etc. Superb interpersonal skills are essential as is an ability to think creatively and generate new ideas.

Responsibilities
• In conjunction with the publicists--cr eate production publicity strategies, screening plans, junket press wish lists, talk show grid, press mailing lists, preview charts and critics charts, etc.
• Daily interaction and coordination with LA pods, digital marketing, creative media, photo and special events departments
• Responsible for all niche campaigns including Faith & Family, Industry, Military, Sports, Beauty, Travel and Mommy bloggers, etc....as well as some mainstream local broadcast outlets
• Accompany talent and filmmakers when needed to press related events including junkets, photo shoots, talk shows and premieres
• Support team in servicing national broadcast press -i.e. Today Show, GMA, CBS Sunday Morning, The Tonight Show, Live with Kelly & Ryan, etc
• Work with LA pods to facilitate all New York talent itineraries

Job Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or public relations preferrable
• Minimum 3 years of experience in marketing, publicity, and/or promotions field
• Excellent computer proficiency with Mac & Windows: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Working knowledge of social media
• Stellar written and verbal communications skills to effectively influence the press, general public audience, and all levels of internal staff.
• Pitching ability; comfort and confidence to interface with high-level talent and filmmakers.
• Incredibly strong organizational skills with precise detail in prioritizing multiple projects
• Exhibit skills to meet tight deadlines
• Strong creative thinker

The anticipated base salary for this position is $91,058 to $118,375. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
