Finance Manager, Production Finance FP&A

Sony Pictures Television (SPT) - Game Shows financial planning and analysis (FP&A) team is looking for an FP&A Manager to support SPT's Game Shows and Ad Sales businesses, reporting directly to the VP, FP&A.

SPT - Game Shows FP&A team provides financial planning, insights, and support for Game Shows production as well as SPT Ad Sales businesses. The FP&A team builds financial forecasts, maintains TV ultimates for all productions, and supports senior management in deal negotiations and business analyses. In pursuit of these goals, the FP&A team liaises with other finance groups within the organization, including production and distribution finance, audit, accounting, technical accounting, billings, corporate reporting, and residuals, as well as non-finance groups including the creative and ad sales teams and business affairs.

Responsibilities:
• Responsible for managing all Game Show productions & Ad Sales financial planning processes, including budget, quarterly forecasts, mid-range plan, reporting and consolidating, as well as coordinating with SPE for the forecast and accounting consolidation and submissions
• Specific P&L responsibility, including preparing & leading the forecast for Game Shows and Ad Sales
• Build and maintain production and ad sales ultimates for purposes of forecasting, financial reporting, financial close and planning in accordance with GAAP and ASC 926
• Works closely with the Game Shows EVP and team, as well as SPT Ad Sales, supporting various stakeholders in financial scenario modeling for new business opportunities and deals
• Maintain appropriate controls within the planning and ultimate process as required by SOX
• Work closely with Distribution divisions to understand distribution ultimates, along with by fiscal year/broadcast season revenue and cost P&L projections
• Work closely with Billings & Production teams to manage cash forecast process
• Prepare financial presentations for operations and senior management
• Develop and implement processes to leverage existing tools and streamline workflows
• Complete special projects for operations and finance as necessary

Requirements:
• BS/BA degree with accounting/finance focus required
• 4+ years public and/or private accounting experience required
• 2+ years hands on experience with ultimate accounting in accordance with ASC 926 strongly preferred
• Experience in automating tasks or processes, as well as identifying and organizing data to achieve a better outcome for analyses
• CPA and/or MBA preferred
• Entertainment experience preferred
• SAP and/or Essbase knowledge preferred
• Strong MS Excel skills required
• Ability to quickly grasp new concepts and problem solve
• Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects
• Strong accounting / IFRS knowledge
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical and PC skills
• Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with all levels of management
