Manager, Credit & Collections

The Sony Pictures Television Order to Cash Team (OTC) is seeking a Manager to work in the Global Financial Operations Department. The role of the Manager will be as project support and AR management for Television Distribution and Production Credit and Collection teams. The Manager will work closely with several departments to ensure all AR transactions and invoices are accurate and resolved in a timely manner.

Core Responsibilities:
• Assist as needed with the day-to-day operations of the AR Credit department.
• Develop a culture of collaboration and customer service at all levels of the department.
• Identify areas for continual process improvement and streamlining duties.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close procedures as well as analysis and special projects as needed.
• Work closely with IT to correct system issues.
• Establish positive relationships with customers as well as Sales personnel and other internal departments to resolve issues and ensure timely collections.
• Ensure proper allocation of cash receipts for all lines of business by reviewing agings with collection staff on a regular basis.
• Possess working knowledge of all credit and collection processes to easily perform as backup for all functions when team members are out of the office.
• Manage audits by the guilds and outside participants as needed.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end close reports as well as ad-hoc reports and analysis as needed.
• Prepare Bad Debt Reserve based on credit ratings, trade news, customer payment history, and specific customer risks.
• Calculate cable valuations for shows with cable runs based off traditional broadcast ratings and sales data.
• Improve operational efficiency by enhancing reporting automation.
• Utilize multiple media outlets to gather and synthesize relevant data into reports.
• Develop and standardize written policy documentation related to the credit and customer processes.
• Manage credit analysis process on customers as needed to mitigate risk.
• Research customer payment patterns and provide trade experience to management as needed.
• Determine the credit worthiness of clients associated with each deal and communicate the answer to Sales.
• Maintain the credit status of all customers in various systems.
• Track latest business and trade news for possible impact on SPT.
• Report any malfunctions or failures in the systems used for credit management to IT or external vendors and follow through to resolution.
• Manage cross functional teams to develop and implement project deliverables.
• Initiate process improvement and quality reviews to simplify and improve productivity.
• Provide task direction to project staff and interact with vendors.
• Speak to stakeholders to determine their needs and translate requirements into a project scope.
• Ensure stakeholders are kept in the loop and their expectations are managed with clear, concise and correct communication.
• Manage statement processing to ensure that approvals are timely to avoid any delays that would cause a breach of contract.
• Review and interpret new Third-Party contracts and provide instruction and guidance to Cap Gemini.
• Develop efficiencies in statement preparation to ensure on time delivery to Home Office.
• Interact with third parties, answering questions and providing additional information as needed, including revenue projections.
• Assist in creation of the cash budgets and forecasts.
• Explain any monthly cash variances between forecast and actuals.
• Manage cash flow, especially at the end of the fiscal year to ensure that cash goals are achieved.

Job Requirements:
• 5+ years of relevant work experience (Entertainment or Ad Sales experience preferred)
• 3-5 years of collection experience
• 2+ years of management experience
• Ability to use MS Excel is required
• SAP experience is preferred
• College degree is required
• Strong critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Must be able to prioritize and multi-task
• Strong written/verbal communication skills
• Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision
• Bachelor's degree preferred

The anticipated base salary for this position is $86,000 - $116,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
