Manager AVOD Audience Network, Strategy & Innovation

At Sony Pictures, our mission is to meet audiences where they are and connect them to the content they love across our rich and diverse repertoire of movie and television IP. We are looking for a commercially-minded and strategic individual to help grow our owned and operated network of channels and pages across YouTube, Facebook, and other audience-facing platforms through a mixture of organic innovation, partnerships, and acquisitions.

Illustrative Projects & Initiatives

The AVOD Audience Strategy, Development & Insights team supports:
• Identify, research, evaluate, and champion new growth and strategic opportunities to further build out our audience network across social platforms (YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, etc.) and define new business models to distribute our content
• Craft presentations to surface industry and consumer trends and translate them into potential opportunities that the Audience AVOD / commercial distribution teams can act upon
• Track and measure KPIs across disparate datasets to help channel managers understand outcomes from experiments or promotions
• Distill large quantitative data and qualitative research into understandable frameworks and relatable summaries that can drive action across our commercial teams and studio partners. Connect the dots and translate data into meaningful and impactful solutions
• Facilitate the incubation of the most promising opportunities by collaborating with and leading cross-functional teams (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Finance, etc.) or external parties (e.g. vendors and startups) to design, execute, and communicate tests, and determine approach to scale (if applicable)
• Support commercial deals or objectives through modeling deal economics and conducting due-diligence research in order to develop strategic recommendations
• Create analytical documents addressing (1) current competitive markets; (2) potential new business development opportunities or partnerships; (3) licensing arrangements; (4) operational analyses; and (5) new business concepts/models

• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to partner and collaborate effectively with cross-divisional functions and external partners
• Superior strategic analysis competencies – performs sophisticated hypothesis-driven analysis with only broad oversight
• Ability to understand implications of analysis and probe deeper when confronted with inconsistent or interesting findings
• Ability to draw well-integrated conclusions and tell a cohesive story from insights and analyses
• Understanding of financial principles/techniques of financial analysis, including discounted cash flows and other valuation techniques
• Enthusiasm and passion for following trends in media and entertainment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to supervise and develop analysts
• Ability to lead teams and persuade and message priorities to teams
• 3 or more years of top-tier general management consulting, other relevant internal industry-consulting roles, and/or relevant internal innovation roles at large cap companies is preferred
• MBA or similar masters degree preferred
