Executive Director, Transactional Digital Acceleration Program, Reporting & Analysis
Overview

The Transactional Digital Acceleration Program has been up and running for the last 18 months internationally at Sony Pictures Entertainment. The program was created from a single global strategic decision to dramatically accelerate the growth of the digital transactional (EST/VOD) business around the world over and above standard market growth and market share targets. This is a global initiative working across regional and local teams to implement.

This role will be focused on timely and accurate sales reporting and trending globally and developing from that the key insights needed to help highlight opportunities that will help to accelerate the growth of the transactional digital business.

There is a huge amount of data that needs to be collated, synthesised and analysed and an increased demand across the globe for more timely and accurate data and insights as the business is developing.

In an increasingly competitive FMCG environment it is critical for the business to be able to:
• Update senior management on title performance
• Track against financial targets
• Forecast future performance
• Adjust marketing spend depending on campaign responses
• Provide intelligence to our teams on the ground
• Have one source of the truth on sales data
• Use insights from the data to inform future plans and strategies
• Use data to support the whole Transactional Digital Acceleration Program
• Use data to ensure the best possible outcomes of our negotiations

What you will be working on:

The Digital Acceleration Program Reporting & Analysis role will require the successful applicant to:
• Work across 20+ territories around the world, which will include some out of hours calls and potential travel (subject to COVID restrictions / company travel policy)
• Be deeply analytical and numerate whilst having a clear view on the business and how the business works in order to ensure delivery of insights and data that will drive clear growth in the business
• Be a thought leader with an excellent understanding of the digital transactional business, its key levers, key clients, and how best to support local teams around the world in developing this business
• Structure and collate regular financial updates on the performance of the Transactional Digital Acceleration Program across the participating territories
• Ensure we have full visibility of the whole business and title performance and impact of initiatives, whilst also identifying key insights around the business
• Prepare regular presentations and updates for senior management on performance of the international business / titles / campaigns as required
• Be a super user and expert in digital transactional data reporting, analytics and insights
• Facilitate, train, and share best practices globally
• Ensure local teams have access to all the data they need to extract the most value from the business locally
• Help to develop and manage key central projects that will benefit all international territories around use of data and insights to support business growth
• Work closely with SPE's central consumer strategy and innovation team to ensure seamless integration of transactional opportunities within the wider SPE consumer data strategy

What we need from you:

Knowledge:
• Direct knowledge of the digital transactional business
• Experience of managing cross functional / virtual teams
• Experience working across territories / regions preferable
• Educated to degree level or equivalent working experience
• Excellent financial modeling and analytical skills, with a high-level proficiency in excel, access and tableau
• Experience of interrogating and consolidating complex issues and information from multiple sources to ensure robustness of assumptions, data & conclusions
• Ability to dig into financial reporting and performance data and extract key insights to inform business strategy
• Strong project management skills
• Background likely to be research / consulting in digital media or tech sectors

Skills / Abilities:
• Inquisitive, critical thinker, proactive problem solver, together with the ability to be flexible, adaptable and resourceful
• Ability to clearly evaluate & communicate uncertainties and sensitivities to changes in assumptions and deal terms
• Strong ability to draw insights and articulate those insights in concise, usable and presentable ways that are useful to drive the business forward
• Ability to work independently, with agility and to use own initiative in all situations
• Ability to provide strategic direction and in a dynamic, deadline driven environment, all the while communicating and providing value to the consumer
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience of reporting and presenting at a senior level
• An effective team player who thrives under the pressure of meeting tight deadlines
• Comfortable with multiple detailed deliverables for multiple owners including working with many stakeholders from junior levels to senior management
• Strong MS Excel, MS PowerPoint skills
• Ability to apply financial discipline and data-driven approach in all areas of the business
• Keen sense of process and entrepreneurial approach
