Environment Artist
The Environment Artist is responsible for creating real-time 3D environments in Unreal Engine for use in virtual production. When creating the environments, they will draw on existing asset libraries, but also be required to create additional 3D assets when needed in 3D tools such as Maya. They will work closely with creatives to ensure timely implementation of feedback, as well as collaborating with the broader team to address any technical challenges. There will be times when support is required for on-going productions in terms of quickly modifying existing scenes.
Job Responsibilities
• Create real-time 3D environments using Unreal Engine
• Creating new 3D assets for an environment using standard 3D artist tools.
• Support on-set productions with any environment/scene changes
• Collaborating with creatives to quickly implement feedback.
• Collaborating with engineers to quickly address technical challenges.
Education, Years of Experience, Specialized Knowledge or Skills Required:
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in 3D asset and environment creation
• 2+ years industry experience creating real-time 3D environments for use in Unreal Engine
• Strong experience with industry-standard 3D creation practices – modeling, texturing, and material creation
• Strong experience with industry-standard tools and workflows – Maya, Blender, Modo, Zbrush, etc.
• Advanced artistic ability to visualize scenes and details with minimal concept art and direction
• Advanced understanding of performance and manage to fit asset in memory and frame rate limits
• Strong spoken and written communication skills.
