Director, Strategic Sourcing - Technology

The Technology Strategic Sourcing Director will serve as a key procurement partner for collaborators within Sony Pictures Entertainment, as well as other Sony operating companies, as part of ''One Sony'' initiatives. This role has the primary responsibility of managing and leading a high-performing, cross-functional team whose mission is to successfully plan and implement technology sourcing engagements. This will include lowering overall spending and improving profits. The scope also involves working closely with Technology and Information Systems team members located in Asia Pacific, Europe, and the Americas. A focus will be placed on critical thinking, tangible results, cost savings, relationship management and development, and operating efficiency over a broad spectrum of technology spend.

This position will collaborate with multiple levels of leadership and contributors from various areas of the company. Key stakeholders will include SPE's IT group, technology-related functions across SPE and other operating companies, both domestically and globally.

Responsibilities:
• Managing and developing a high-performing team
• Carrying out sophisticated strategic sourcing initiatives
• Leading multiple sourcing engagements from start to completion
• Guiding the technology team with their key initiatives
• Setting and exceeding annual cost-reduction goals
• Implementing the seven-step sourcing methodology
• Interfacing and supporting clients and suppliers
• Handling contracts and suppliers
• Developing and implementing vendor management programs
• Project management
• Performing cost modeling and market analysis (following models established by Strategic Sourcing) that focus on reducing total cost of ownership
• Structuring projects and negotiations that follow the Sourcing & Procurement ''7 steps'' methodology
• Completing results to completion with efficiency, accuracy, and adaptability
• Supporting inquiries from the internal Strategic Sourcing team and client Senior Executives with financial, supply market, spend, and relationship opportunity analysis
• Assessing market conditions and developing procurement strategies that improve value to Sony
• Meeting clients' requirements for service, quality, and value at lowest total cost
• Participating in professional development activities to stay on top of current standard practices and continuously improve professional skills and technical expertise
• Contributing to the development of long-term direction-setting for the organization

Requirements:
• 7+ years of relevant sourcing experience; experience with technology strategy development, process change management and implementation
• BA / BS required
• Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Finance or Business preferred
• MBA preferred
• CPM/CPSM or other similar certifications preferred
• Ability to work independently and proactively identify potential areas for sourcing and cost reduction
• High personal integrity and ethics
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong project management skills
• Deep understanding of overall technology category management (i.e., hardware, software, infrastructure, services, etc.)
• Ability to effectively manage senior-level client relationships
• Ability to negotiate strong pricing, business, and legal terms and draft them into contracts with minimal legal support
• Ability to logically manage issues and conflicts with suppliers and stakeholders
• Ability to perform make-versus-buy outsourcing analyses and to develop total cost of ownership models
• Ability to influence others and to act as a change agent within their department and company
• Strong MS Office Suite skills required (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, Project and Visio)
