Business Analyst, IT, Japan

Based in our Tokyo office, the role of Business Analyst will collaborate with Asia Pacific IT and global application support teams to provide finance and business applications support, as well as execute project tasks as required to deliver process improvement solutions that add value to Sony Pictures Entertainment's businesses

Reporting to the IT Manager in Tokyo, in this position you will work closely with regional and global support teams and will provide business analysis and application support to Sony Pictures users in Japan and across the APAC region. You will also support and participate in local and regional IT projects.

Key Responsibilities Include
• Conduct finance and business application support activities, as determined by IT management, such as incident reporting, troubleshooting and resolution.
• Work with relevant executives to determine and deliver local finance and business needs.
• Participate in IT projects to ensure projects are delivered successfully.
• Gather, analyze, and document requirements and processes for finance and business applications.
• Work with business stakeholders to understand end-to-end business process impact and benefits.
• Implement application enhancements and process changes
• Coordinate, perform and document in-depth tests and end-user reviews of process changes, application upgrades and enhancements.
• Conduct process, application and new functionality demonstrations, and train users
• Ensure that interfaces between applications are documented and maintained.
• Lead and promote process improvements.

Candidate Requirements
• A University degree
• Typically a minimum of 3 years' work experience in relevant fields such as IT, Finance, Business.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written, in both English and Japanese languages with the ability to communicate concisely and persuasively.
• Self-starter, quick learner with the ability to work under limited supervision and seek assistance where necessary.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to multitask and ''think outside the box''
• Desire and ability to work across several technologies and applications.
• Desire and ability to work across different lines of business and territories in Asia Pacific.
• Aspiration to leverage IT to add value to the business.
• Finance knowledge would be highly regarded, particularly Accounts Payable and General Ledger processes.
• Finance and/or business application system support experience would be highly regarded.
• Project experience in IT or process change such as training, testing, requirement analysis or project planning is required (as a project manager or participant)
• Experience in working effectively as part of a team would be highly regarded
