Boondocks Background Painter

The background painter will paint backgrounds, layouts and any other background-related art that the production may require, ensuring Anime style and quality of show are met. This artist will have a rich imagination, stylistic versatility and strong drawing and painting skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work closely with Art Director to apply color, textures and details to approved background designs.
• Reference color keys established by the color stylist to adhere to the show style.
• Further the storytelling using color, design and a sense of light.
Complete all color work within assigned deadlines.
• Resolve color problems with creative supervisors.
• Communicate progress of work to appropriate production staff.
• Ensure all artwork is properly backed up and stored appropriately.
• Comfortable working in both 2d and 3D.
• Must demonstrate proficiency in style of show.
• Strong drawing and painting skills with a sense of appeal, storytelling, composition, color and lighting.
• Understanding of Anime and the ability to paint in that style.
• Excellent of color sense.
• Strong time-management skills.
• Work well under pressure.
• Ability to multitask a plus.
• Knowledge of drawing software that includes: Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Relevant digital color experience in TV Animation production.
