Job Description
Assistant Manager/Manager

Based in Manila, Philippines, the Assistant Manager/Manager in the Record to Report (RTR) Hub is responsible for managing and supporting the day-to-day accounting functions for Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) IT team. This includes financial reporting and related analysis functions coupled with continuous improvement, standardization and simplification of those functions and outputs. The Assistant Manager/Manager will also serve as a liaison between SPE's outsource provider, Capgemini (BPO), and SPE's Lines of Business.

In addition, the Assistant Manager/Manager is responsible for the incremental SAP S4/Hana work which will result from Cash Clearing, Open Items Management, Document Type usage/Doc Splitting by profit centers, BW reports, etc.

Responsibilities:
• Pre-Period End Activities - Review/approve intercompany accrual entries. FA fiscal year change report, FA year end close report, critical accounts analysis and TB report, and journal proposal of corrections of critical accounts.
• Period End Activities - Review Balance Sheet reconciliation, supporting documentation, and propose required adjustments. P&L analysis and support documentation including salary related expenses. Close reports for period close and GL Reconciliation of open Items and balance managed accounts. Solve non-IT issues in AR and inventory close activities. Review inter-company settlements. Review/approve allocation entries to various Lines of Business, External and Internal Labor Entries, prepaid amortization entries. Assist with creation of reconciliation templates for very complex accounts. Run reports as needed.
• Reporting and Queries for Lines of Business financial and management reporting for overhead and projects, review/approve proposed adjustment entries, review/sign off and obtain Lines of Business approval, if needed. Review/approve P&L, Balance Sheet, and cash flow reports. Triage query or ad-hoc report request; review/approve responses from BPO. Review and enhance actual to Plan P&L Variances. Perform ad-hoc report requests. Submit all Corporate Quarterly Forms. Manage statutory and tax audits.
• Journal Entries - Review and support for/approve judgmental journal entries. Review/approve certain non-judgmental journal entries. Provide documented approval for system limited entries. Correct and book journal entries that are parked or posted incorrectly when there is a time crunch. Prepare and post ad-hoc complex journal entries.
• Fixed Assets and Capital Projects - Review/approve request for purchase, disposal, or transfer unplanned depreciation. Analyze capital project cost reports and revise project budgets and controls, as needed. Review/approve accelerated depreciation as needed. Review AUC balances and ensure that depreciation is being booked accurately.
• Corporate Income Tax Return - Prepare or obtain data and review/sign off annual tax package

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business
• Minimum 4 years related experience in finance/accounting including a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience required
• Knowledge of GAAP accounting
• SAP experience required (Intermediate to advanced level)
• Advanced competency in MS Excel especially in using Word and Excel pivots, VLOOKUP, Macros. Proficient in MS PowerPoint and Word.
• Solid written and presentation skills
• Ability to foster an outstanding relationship of customer service and satisfaction with operating and financial personnel at all levels
• Excellent organizational, project management and analytical skills
