Art Director Creative Center, Culver City

The Creative Center is the global hybrid internal agency within Sony Pictures Television that also services businesses across Sony Pictures Entertainment. This role will evangelize the ''One Sony'' philosophy and elevate the brand vision, voice, strategy for all Sony IP, both new and existing. The purpose of this position is to provide ideation, creative and subsequent execution for all clients. We service a growing group of internal Sony Pictures Entertainment partners and projects including but not limited to Sony Pictures Television Studio and subsequent labels, Franchise Marketing, Sony Networks and FAST Channels, Games, Sony Global Marketing, PR, Theatrical Marketing, Corporate Comms, D&I, P&O, CPG, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy!, etc. Must master critical thinking, creative strategy and design and be a leader of the department. This position reports into the Creative Director and oversees and collaborates with other Creative Center team members across departments. This position is critical in establishing brand utilizing both staff and vendor/ contract resources.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

75% Ideates strategic design solutions specifically in regards to both Sony original and acquired properties - is a great storymaker . Ideate branding initiatives for Sony Global Marketing that includes servicing global networks . Ideate 360 campaign solutions for Sony Pictures Television Studios and its labels. Service constituents from Franchise Marketing, D&I, P&O, Corporate, etc . ideating and executing brand ( B 2 B , D2C ) campaigns and deliverables . In addition , Art Director ( AD ) must be able to work as a team member , but also be a resourceful self - starter and an adept leader , managing teams across all disciplines . Must be an effective liason and juggle multiple projects between various groups within Sony Pictures Entertainment as well as external agencies and vendors . Must exhibit strong leadership skills and the ability to see projects from concept through execution with minimal supervision . Must have consummate proficiency at taking and giving feedback both from a creative and personnel perspective. AD should exhibit strong business acumen and impeccable presentation skills . Must have the ability and focus to mentor designers and roadmap career trajectory of their creative teams. They must be skilled in managing external vendors- bringing additional resources to Creative Center. Proficient working knowledge of Abobe Creative Suite , Keynote , PPT required . Impeccable attention to detail is mandatory. Excellent photoshop , illustration , typography , AE , compositing skills required. C 4 D skills a plus . Proficient knowledge of various social platforms preferred . AD must receive and give creative direction and relishes collaboration and growth . The AD will explore untested and unique approaches to creative solutions, pushing the craft as well as the department forward, while meeting all project and scope requirements always elevating the level of creativity and brand. Required to meet budgets and quick turnaround deadlines . Agency experience is a must .

15% AD is a great communicator and is punctual . She / he maintains an efficient workflow and process and promptly communicates any issues regarding design and production to management . Accurately documents work related information via work orders , etc . Works hand - in - hand with Production ,
Operations and Creative Directors . Manages assets and archives projects accordingly and understands delivery . The AD will regularly assess the performance of artists on the team and provide information to department heads . She / he will also lead by example in matters pertaining to company policy and performance . The AD will work with the CD and the leadership team to conduct interviews of artists who aspire to join the team , be it independent contractor or staff .

5% Exhibit willingness to take on responsibilities outside of her/ his job description and has the ability to respond to business demands in a fast - paced environment . Presents a positive and professional attitude to stakeholders and co - workers . AD exudes can-do attitude, is solutions oriented and an inspiration to the department.

5% AD maintains familiarity with current culture , design and marketing trends , social platforms and the relevance of fans and audiences . Exhibits an innate sense of curiosity .

Work Experience Requirements
• Experience in a self-starter/ leadership role w/ management experience in an agency environment
• 8-10 years in design and production (broadcast, digital, print, experiential a plus)
• Expert proficiency using Adobe CC, PowerPoint. Keynote
• Ability to manage projects from concept through execution unsupervised
• Prolific storymaker
• Strong proficiency in branding initiatives and strategy
• Passionate about original, acquired and library content, social, events and global branding initiatives
• Experience in storyboarding narratives, concept creation and production execution
• Experience in live action, 2D animation, 3D and VEFX, compositing, sonic branding

Desirable Requirements

Ability to work flexible hours.

Deep knowledge of social platforms.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor Degree in Fine Art, Graphic Design or Film
