Analyst, Analytics & Activation
The Analyst, Analytics & Activations uses statistical analysis to support business teams across the IP lifecycle and business value chain. The Analyst is either a domain expert or works closely to apply insights to business processes, functions, or decisions. The Analyst specializes in quick turn analytics to help businesses adapt to short to medium term opportunities and challenges by delivering timely, relevant analytics and interpreted insights that deliver business value to our stakeholders. This will involve using existing tools and dashboards to extract data and insights that will answer a wide spectrum of business questions. The Analyst will support activation capabilities by building and curating 1st Party consumer segments for Digital Activation, including tracking and measuring campaign performance. The Analyst will also excel in descriptive analysis, delivering the business with visibility on what and when something has happened, but also can explore data to explain why.
Responsibilities
Quick Turn Tool-Based Analytics
• Extract data and insights from the repertoire of tools developed and deployed by datasolutions (but not limited to) to answer business requests ranging from Consumer Profiles, trend reporting and summarization, sentiment analysis and interpretation across Titles (Movies / TV Series), Brands and talent, deeper and more comprehensive Title Assessments, and measurement outcomes.
• Deliver these outputs in short cycles and turnkey templates, with the focus on quick delivery and succinct and relevant insights that is anchored to the business question, so that the business stakeholder can make timely decisions.
Ad Hoc Analysis and Insights
• Assess scope and execute analysis in response to ad-hoc business problems and opportunities.
• Curate the optimal data required, using business statistical methods, visualization, data mining and exploration techniques to answer business questions.
• Execute statistical analysis to understand what happened and when, including trending analysis and index / benchmarking.
• Deeper dive analysis to diagnose ''why'' will involve data mining approaches, contrast, and compare analysis and simple correlation analysis to understand the relationships across data attributes.
• Deliver these outputs as insights, implications and with consideration to business value impact.
Activation and Campaign Execution
• Support the 100+ title campaigns (and growing) SPE delivers each year, operating within governance parameters, identify and curate 1st party SPE consumers for activation.
• Stemming from the quick turn consumer profiling analysis via existing tools, build consumer segments across title campaigns, orchestrate, and deploy to media platforms for internal Performance Media Teams or External media agencies to execute media buy, and track / report campaign results.
Requirements
Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Corporate Strategy, Business Analytics, Management, Finance, Economics, or Mathematics from an accredited university
• 2+ years of industry experience in Sales, Sales Planning, Business Analysis, or Research, OR 2+ years with Strategy Consulting or Analytics Consulting company with clients in content distribution and/or creation
• 2+ years producing and distributing business facing insights and reports
• SQL: Experience in using this language to query databases, extract relevant data and performing basic data transformations
• Basic Experience Python analytical packages a plus
Skills
• Statistical Analysis and data interpretation – proficient in statistical methods to analyze data, find patterns and draw meaningful conclusions and actionable knowledge.
• Demonstrate knowledge of key business metrics (calculations, meaning and impact) across their domain knowledge
• Demonstrate data curiosity but balance this with efficient and effective approaches to data mining and data exploration.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, anchored by the business ask / goal, demonstrated ability to translate insights to business implications and actionable knowledge.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot analyses, calculations and avoid errors and ensure accuracy. This includes assessing existing calculations (from another analysts) and can independently QC their own work.
• Strong written and verbal skills – can write an analysis scope and be able to respond in a clear and thoughtful way to clarifying questions. Demonstrate that they can structure a presentation with data, analysis, and a conclusion, and share findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Can thrive in a fast-paced industry, with high volume new product / content releases across a variety of categories (movies, series, broad genres)
The anticipated base salary for this position is $60,000 - $78,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
