Vice President, Promotion – Arista Nashville

As Vice President, Promotion, you'll develop and implement strategic and tactical radio promotion plans for Arista Nashville artists such as Adam Doleac, Brad Paisley, Morgan Wade, Old Dominion, and Ryan Hurd.

What You'll Do
• Develop and implement strategic and tactical radio promotion plans for artists on the Arista Nashville imprint
• Lead promotion team to ensure airplay goals are achieved for assigned artists, increasing visibility and sales
• Develop, implement, and evaluate long-term promotional chart strategies for label artist singles to increase visibility and sales
• Lead Arista Nashville team, motivating and equipping them to achieve airplay goals and providing staff with national direction and support on airplay priorities
• Develop, cultivate and leverage relationships with radio staff and other industry leaders; provide clear direction to regional staff to do the same, communicating airplay priorities to radio programmers
• Guide regional staff in development and implementation of local, regional, and national contests and promotions in order to enhance artist and song awareness
• Develop and implement regional and national promotional tours for Arista Nashville artists
• Guide staff to develop promotional plans around tour dates utilizing contest, interviews, and meet and greets
• Contribute regularly and generously to promotion strategies of all Sony Music Nashville artists through regular meetings with other label promotion leaders
• Communicate label needs and requests to artist managers
• Work cross-functionally with appropriate marketing, media, and sales leaders to develop strategic / cost-effective plans to drive airplay. Contribute to long-term artist planning and album launch plans
• Regularly present and educate label staff on promotion activities and status of singles
• Develop airplay forecasts
• Work with label leaders to determine single selection and sequencing. Evaluate effectiveness of efforts for each single. Recommend changes needed in response to various drivers (such as the impact of touring and TV appearances) through the life of the project
• Create budgets and provide budget oversight for promotion activities (meeting annual overhead and profitability targets. Monitor and approve staff travel and entertainment (T&E) expenses.

Who You Are
• Significant experience in country radio promotions, generally gained through 10 or more years of promotions experience with proven track record of exceeding company-defined goals
• Proven development of successful relationships with country radio programmers, generally gained through 10 or more years of experience
• Exceptional sales skills including negotiation, account management, and account penetration
• Successful track record leading a team of varied personalities by communicating a vision and providing purpose, direction, and motivation to the team while building trust among team members, generally gained through 10 or more years of managerial experience
• Experience reading and interpreting BDS and Mediabase airplay reports. Demonstrated ability to translate analysis into sound business conclusions. Ability to draw conclusions in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
• Experience in a role that required a collaborative, consultative approach when interacting with all levels within an organization
• Extensive knowledge of the music industry, particularly the role of airplay in driving sales
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience making presentations in meetings and conference calls
• Ability to express thoughts clearly and succinctly
• Demonstrated organizational skills, including experience coordinating multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment with effective resolution of conflicting priorities
• Experience with setting and managing budgets
• Working knowledge of digital technology, the digital music space, social media, and online digital marketing
• Proficiency with PCs and common software packages; Willing to work nights, weekends and travel as needed
