As a Specialist, Media, you will act as an integral member of the Sony Music Nashville (SMN) team promoting our artists' music in Nashville, TN and beyond. You will support senior media staff with implementation of media strategy for their assigned roster of Sony Music Nashville artists, as well as implement publicity plans for an assigned roster of 5+ developing artists.

What you'll do:
• Develop and drive overall publicity strategy with an emphasis on digital media for assigned SMN artist roster that positively impacts and builds consumption in addition to enhancing artist image and awareness
• Write, edit and maintain press materials: press releases, bios, press kits, talk points, boiler plates, media alerts, quote sheets, clips, etc. for an assigned roster of 5+ developing artists
• Orchestrate and help develop the narrative of an artist to achieve brand and communication goals; set up media coaching and assist in creative conversations
• Research new contacts specifically in the digital space (streaming & broadcast digital platforms, podcasting, YouTube/internet based shows, social media takeovers, influencers)
• Oversee coordination and execution of artist media interviews and appearances (events, TV, Red Carpets, Awards shows, etc) and effectively prepare talent and media for interviews and appearances
• Provide timely email recaps including links of key SMN artist TV appearances, articles and other media results to internal artist teams, executives and artist management
• Create media budgets and work closely with the Media Coordinator, vendors, artist business management and internal finance team to receive timely final budgets, PO# assignments and invoices for processing

Who you are:
• A self-starter with at least 2-3 years of experience in media / public relations in the entertainment industry (sports, media, music, live entertainment, etc.) or as an independent publicist
• A connector with developed credibility and trust through drawing people, ideas, and opportunities together; Ability to build and maintain connections with key partners and influencers – TV talent bookers, executives, publications editors and journalists
• An initiator with a drive for accuracy and agile decision making with an ability to express thoughts clearly and succinctly through strong verbal and written communication
• A digital savvy thinker with the ability to interpret, dissect and communicate media's impact on the future
• A trustworthy professional demonstrating a strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion in handling sensitive artist information
• A detail-oriented individual with proven experience meeting deadlines, working on multiple priority tasks simultaneously; proven ability to maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure and changing conditions; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, Muckrack
• A music afficionado with a curiosity to develop a wholistic understanding of the music industry and willingness to work frequent nights/weekends and be available for travel
• College degree preferred, but not required
