The Director, Strategy & Initiatives position will work directly with executives in Corporate and the Global Digital Business, including the President, to develop and effectively communicate the group's strategy, helping to set the overall strategic direction of the company with respect to its priorities and deal-making. The role will form a critical part of SME's Strategy & Investments team and predominantly focus on tracking industry developments, analyzing trends and identifying opportunities in the digital music landscape, as well as participation in strategic projects and communication of initiatives to key stakeholders.

What you'll do:
• Play a role in evaluating Sony Music's strategic direction by conducting rigorous industry research and analysis, closely monitoring ongoing developments in the digital music landscape, and presenting relevant analyses and insights with actionable recommendations to senior management on a regular basis.
• Create materials to communicate complex market trends and the group's strategic initiatives to key stakeholders in a visually clear and stimulating manner by conducting research and analysis, as well as collecting relevant analysis from core teams to explain rationale and impacts, tailoring presentation styles and information to the context and audience.
• Be the subject matter expert and point person responsible for informing senior management on the digital media landscape and the future revenue outlook of the recorded music market.
• Independently develop and create compelling presentations for the group's senior management team to internal and external stakeholders, including as part of Sony Music's cyclical strategic planning process and for board meetings, conferences, business review sessions, and other key meetings, as well as generally prepare executives with research and data for these meetings.
• Assist in tracking progress of key strategic initiatives undertaken by the group to update and inform senior management.

• Exceptional ability to turn complex data insights into visually compelling and digestible presentations suited for a specific audience.
• Passionate about the music industry and the entertainment sector.
• Deeply interested in the future of music as it intersects with consumer and technology trends.
• Ability to provide accurate and timely results under tight schedules and while managing multiple priorities.
• Proactive self-starter with agility to flex from high-level strategist and tactical thinker to practical implementation and day-to-day execution.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, able to come up with creative inputs, suggestions, and solutions to a variety of business problems.
• Adept at working with people at various levels/functions and managing relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders.
• 4-year undergraduate degree required and MBA strongly preferred (2-3 year post MBA).
• 5-8 years of experience in a top-tier management consulting firm or comparable position in a digital media company preferred.

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $140,000 to $165,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
