Technical Program Manager
San Diego, CA
The Technical Program Manager is responsible for leading, planning, and organizing project teams to achieve a high level of performance; while ensuring the program is aligned to the IT strategic plan. The Technical Program Manager will manage various programs and/or teams while adhering to the policies set forth in the IT PMO. The position will report to the Manager, IT Program Management
Responsibilities:
• Lead and motivate Project teams that support SIE IT PMO
• Prepare and present high-level status reports of Programs
• Collaborate with other team members in the SIE IT PMO
• Identify and mitigate risks throughout the project/program
• Continually evaluate overall performance of the Corp IT Train team(s) or Programs
• Lead Strategic Planning sessions
• Provide transparent communication to all stakeholders
• Identify areas for process improvement and initiate improvements
• Provide program management expertise for large to enterprise scale programs with moderate to high complexity
• Contribute to establishing methods and metrics for tracking performance and making decisions within the extended Program Management group
Qualifications:
• 4 Year Degree in Technology Related Field from an accredited university
• 5+ years in Information Technology
• 5+ years as an IT Project/Program Manager
• Project/Program Management Certification
• In depth knowledge of SAFe or Scrum methodology/process
• Previous Project or Program Management Experience
• Proven success of leading technology teams
• Previous experience in a Technical role
• Ability to quickly adapt and respond to shifts in the Program
• Requires proficiency in one or more Project Management tools, preferably tools used in Agile development (Rally, Jira, etc.). Expertise with other Project Management and communication tools, such as Confluence, Google Apps, Wiki and SharePoint, also desired.
Desired qualifications:
• Master Degree in Business / Technology from an accredited university
• Experience with Agile Methodology
• Previous Program Management experience
• Languages: English, Japanese a plus
