The Environment Set Dressing department creates impressive environments with manual and procedural dressings. Using cutting-edge technology, the artists are responsible for distributing and growing assets and vegetation to fill the environment and improve the narrative context of the sequence. All content is gathered and optimized for each shot before delivering to Lighting and Compositing departments.

As an Environment Set Dressing Senior Artist, you will be involved in several processes such as location assembling process, set dressing per sequence, shot construction, optimization, rendering, publication and support.

Responsibilities
• Creates distributions using scattering tools such as Houdini or similar procedural software.
• Improves shot framing per camera, showing strong image composition skills.
• Builds outstanding complex locations with an optimal usage of assets and handles complex scenes.
• Debugs and troubleshoots their own scenes issues and helps less experienced team members with the problems they encounter.
• Consistent and successful delivery of assigned tasks for the show on schedule, meeting the required standards and with minimal supervision.
• Keeps an eye on the department's general tasks, pipeline and workflows and possible recurrent problems to identify potential upcoming production issues.
• Assists the Leads and has close communication with them to share relevant information.
• Shows initiative and communicates with other departments to solve problems, answer questions, or share information.
• Ability to mentor and collaborate with other team members and share their knowledge and expertise providing them with support, guidance and instruction in areas that contribute towards their artistic and professional growth, as needed.
• Follows the Supervisor's and Lead's guidance.

Requirements
• 5+ years in VFX or animation industries.
• 3+ years in the animation industry.
• Strong image composition skills required.
• Optimal creation of distributions using scattering tools in Houdini.
• Exceptional technical and/or artistic knowledge.
• Deep knowledge of the software used for the show (usually Maya, Houdini).
• Knowing Z Brush is desirable.
• Demonstrate a good understanding of other departments and functions.
• Ability to debug and troubleshoot complex scenes.
• High English level desirable.
• Spanish desirable.
