Vice President, Private Equity

Job Description

Keyser Capital is searching for a Vice President that will be responsible for overseeing the existing $1.4 billion non-media private equity/real estate portfolio. The private equity team will develop deep industry knowledge in targeted sectors and source new control position opportunities through their broad professional network. In addition to sourcing traditional private equity investments this team will use their network of independent sponsor relationships to originate suitable investment opportunities. This strategy will provide for maximum resource allocation and flexibility. We will aspire to be a reliable source of capital adding value to the sponsor by saving them significant time and hassle in their equity raise, enabling them to focus greater energy on sourcing investments and building businesses.

Core Responsibilities
• Manage and drive the investment cycle including investment thesis generation, deal sourcing, and deal execution
• Lead and oversee key functions of a transaction including origination, underwriting, financial modeling, due diligence, and presentation to the Investment Committee
• Establish and maintain a network of independent private equity firms (sponsor-less funds) across the country
• Lead and oversee a small, high achieving team involved in all aspects of the deal cycle
• Interaction with management of portfolio companies and financial sponsors
• Lead the due diligence process including risk assessment, sensitivity analysis, and market/competitive industry analysis
• Oversee the ongoing monitoring and projects for portfolio companies, including compiling portfolio company financial data, performing periodic financial analysis, and participating in periodic board/company meetings
• Mentor and train analysts in developing financial and valuation models

Qualifications
• Ten plus years of successful private equity investing and/or mezzanine financing
• M.B.A. or graduate degree in finance preferred
• Full direct deal cycle experience, including strategy setting, sourcing, structuring, performing due diligence, legal documentation, closing, portfolio management, and exits
• Strong sourcing network and ability to cultivate new, productive relationships
• Ability to demonstrate a creative, flexible, resourceful, and disciplined approach to driving a complex mission-driven investment program
• Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills
• Willingness to travel
