Newscast Director / Video Editor

Job Description

Responsibilities:
• Direct newscasts using Overdrive
• Use control room for any assigned productions
• Maintain production studio and control room
• Editing video for daily news coverage & special projects
• Taking in news feeds from news bureaus and various news organizations
• Floor Direct and run teleprompter as needed
• Collaborating with anchors, reporters and producers on video elements of newscasts
• Meeting daily deadlines in a high-energy working environment
• Perform other tasks related to the position as assigned

Requirements:
• Experience using Overdrive is a definite plus
• Knowledge of non-linear video editing with an emphasis on AVID Media Composer is also a big plus
• Directing and coding newscasts
• Knowledge of production standards and equipment
• Ability to clearly give direction to crew while under pressure
• Ability to work with a multitude of people and personalities while maintaining a professional work environment
