Digital Media Coordinator (Seasonal)

Marquee Sports Network is the exclusive television home of the MLB Chicago Cubs in partnership with Sinclair Broadcast Group (Nasdaq: SBGI). It is the Chicago-region's exclusive network for fans to view live Cubs games, features extensive pre and postgame coverage, exclusive Cubs content and other local sports programming. Marquee Sports Network brings together one of the most iconic sports franchises in the country with one of the largest television broadcasting companies to deliver unprecedented Cubs coverage for fans. Marquee is also the television home of the WNBA Chicago Sky, providing a variety of exciting coverage.

The Digital Media Coordinator will assist with day-to-day Digital operations during the 2023 Cubs baseball season. As part of the Marketing department, you will assist in various tasks to help promote our network programming and team coverage, including working with the Social Media team on a daily basis.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Monitor our website and app to ensure appropriate titles and metadata are displayed
• Assist in the video editing and publishing process and edit game-related media cards, highlights and game notes
• Create written content and quality headlines
• Refine and edit copy on website and in video titles/summaries
• Work closely with social team to promote digital content
• Assist in the production and editing of podcasts
• Closely follow all baseball and other sports news
• Assist in coordinating the integration of sponsorships and promotional messaging across all digital platforms, including the ticker
• Other Marketing duties and responsibilities as assigned
• Punctual, regular and consistent attendance
• Ability to be productive while working in the office or in a remote environment

Qualifications, Skills and Educational Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree study in a related program preferred
• Prior experience and/or coursework focused on multimedia journalism, student television, website publishing, AVID video editing, Adobe Photoshop and After Effects preferred
• Limited experience with WordPress or another CMS preferred
• Prior experience producing sports-related video content preferred
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; previous sports writing experience a plus
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce quality content
• Ability to assist in executing editorial and creative decisions under supervision
• Passionate about sports with a knowledge of baseball
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to receive feedback from others and apply it to the work
• High productivity when working independently and while collaborating with others
• Ability to work nights and weekends required
