Job Profile:

We are looking for a new Publicity and Travel Assistant on a fixed term contract (4 months), to support the busy and dynamic Adult Marketing and Publicity team. The role will comprise a variety of administrative responsibilities including but not restricted to booking travel and accommodation, processing invoices, catalogue production and newsletter data input.

The Role:

Reporting to the Adult Marketing & Publicity Director, the role provides key administrative support to the division and covers a range of duties including processing invoices, organising meetings, arranging travel and hotel bookings, and general publicity and marketing contact internally and externally.

Whilst this role is entirely administrative, it will provide the opportunity to observe the inner workings of a busy press office and marketing team and would be an excellent first step into publishing.

The Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and highly motivated, possessing excellent communication skills, both written and verbal as well as the ability to interact at all levels. Highly organised, with a meticulous eye for detail and the ability to multi-task in a busy environment. This role is central to the smooth day-to-day running of three busy teams, so a calm and 'can-do' manner is essential. A good understanding of social media, IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Excel are a must. Strong understanding of administrative tasks is highly desirable.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a successful and growing publishing house with an impressive list of authors and illustrators across its Adult and Children's imprints, in a key role within the publishing process.

Simon & Schuster UK is an equal opportunities employer committed to the goal of building a culturally diverse workforce. We welcome applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity.

Please apply with your CV and a cover letter.

Closing date: 19th July 2022
