Full-time, permanent role – asap start

Simon & Schuster Australia now has a new opportunity for a well-read, passionate, strategic and organised professional for the business critical role of National Account Manager based in Sydney.

Purpose of the role:

You will be managing total sales for one of our largest national accounts along with other special sales accounts and business development opportunities. This will include management of all sales and promotional opportunities as well as business reviews and attendance at key meetings internally and externally, working with distribution clients, conferences and reporting. Some interstate travel is required.

Responsibilities include things like this:
• To achieve or exceed sales and distribution targets for assigned accounts and new business development.
• Plan and execute effective sales and marketing strategies to maximise Simon & Schuster Australia's market share and presence.
• Create and maintain effective relationships with existing and new account buyers.
• Develop special sales through existing and new business development into non-traditional sales channels.
• Effective reporting of key account and business development sales outcomes to all relevant departments.

What we'd like you to bring:
• Highly self-motivated and organised with excellent decision-making skills
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in a Sales or Account Management role
• Ability to set sales targets and develop sales and marketing strategies
• Ability to think and work analytically
• Confident presentation and interpersonal skills
• Ability to identify market and promotional sales opportunities
• Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
• Experience using data analysis to make informed and strategic decisions
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Previous experience in the book industry is not necessary but highly desirable
