This Designer role will be a temp to perm postiion. The designer will be responsible for designing and assembling the book jacket mechanicals so that they are reproducible for print and electronic usages. Each designer works on about 150 titles annually. Some front cover design work possible. This department services the Avid Reader, Scribner and S&S imprints.

Must be proficient in Indesign & photoshop.

Must have strong typographic sensibility.

Must have an interest in books and reading.

Book publishing experience preferred.

Must be organized, self-motivated, and detail oriented.

The hourly rate for the duration of the temp status will be $45/hour.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The annual salary for this position is $58,000.00 - $64,000.00

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
