Scribner Books is seeking an Associate Publisher who will be responsible for the following areas
Managing inventory -- consulting with inventory management, reprint team and sales to determine first prints and reprints for Scribner list. Establishing jacket and cover prices in conjunction with publisher and sales.
Acting as liaison with sales and supply necessary materials--
Working with the sales team to supply accounts with what they need to sell; supervise creation of tip sheets, reading material; work on account promotions and other opportunities.
Managing schedules and production of the Scribner list -Working with the publisher to establish seasonal lists; working with managing ed to set due dates for transmittals and other deadlines.
Art -- Working with the publisher, art director and editorial director to evaluate jacket designs; and monitor deadlines, copy, quotes, production costs.
Backlist management -- working with Directors Publicity and Marketing and Marketing Director to identify opportunities to repackage, get new introductions or afterwords, increase prices, institute down-pricing promotions.
• 8+ years of experience in book publishing is required
• Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal)
• Confidence in presenting to internal and external stakeholders, prospective authors
• Proficient with Facebook Business, Google AdWords, digital/social analytics
• Organized, detail-oriented, collaborative, and versatile to handle a range of projects
• Understanding of the ever-evolving media landscape
