The AV Prodution team at Showtime is looking for a new Director, Post Production Services!

This position is directly responsible for handling the daily operations of the Post Production Services Department. This includes all video tactics final QC, versioning, and delivery across all platforms and partners as well as cross-departmental workflow as it relates to video tactic delivery and tracking. Also included is editing support for the wider creative org as bandwidth allows, creation of on-air navigational elements and creation of workflow specific assets such as International & POC. Develop and evolve workflows as needed to adapt to industry trends, new platforms/versioning needs and workload volume, such as: off-air fulfillment and technical delivery needs, outsourcing workstreams, QC/versioning automation solutions and working with VP, AV Prod to forecast resource needs against schedule of programming releases.

Principal Responsibilities
• Handle the daily operations of the Post Production Services department
• Versioning, final QC, delivery and production where necessary of all AV tactics including but not limited to Promos, Menus, ID's, Teases, Editorial content, POCs, international string outs, media-buy versioning and delivery, resizing, Info bar graphics and Ratings and Advisories.
• Dissemination of information regarding materials not in accordance with established SNI standards so that revisions can be implemented.
• Insure the timely delivery of materials and work with teams to handle priorities
• Maintenance of Post Production Service's database/video library within SAN/Currator
• General assistance to the department in all areas related to post production

Employee management and relations
• Handle the activities of direct reports through coaching, delegating, and proper staffing in order to meet stated departmental and company goals.
• Initiate frequent communication to ensure the team understands their assignments and responsibilities and give appropriate feedback
• Update and inform the VP on all necessary department activity.
• Provide growth paths for PPS team by working with VP, AV Production to resource team to allow for creative editing support for wider org.

Resource planning & workflow development
• Regularly work with VP, AV production to evaluate PPS resource needs against anticipated work volume (Show roll-out schedule) and evolving complexity (ever growing versioning needs and delivery types) and pull together resource proposals
• Look for opportunities to evolve/adjust existing workflows to better handle complexity and achieve higher levels of efficiency such as off-air fulfillment and resizing through both internal changes and outsourcing workflows.
• Keep up to date on industry trends and tools to apply technology (ex: automation) to more efficiently handle volume

Knowledge, skills, and abilities
• Effective management skills. Ability to delegate, motivate and guide staff members to achieve stated goals.
• The ability to coordinate a wide variety of responsibilities and handle the implications with regard to workflow.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Extensive video editing skills, technical expertise and a working knowledge of multiple non-linear editing systems.
• A complete understanding of NTSC video/audio broadcast standards
• Knowledge of broadcast video/audio equipment such as waveform/vectorscopes, audio meters, and video tape decks of various formats
• An extensive understanding of both of the Macintosh and Windows operating systems
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of video compression

Education and experience
• High school graduate
• College degree preferred, not required
• Expertise in video post production, editing, and management
• 5-7 years of related experience. Management experience required
