Our digital editorial team has an exciting Lifestyle Editor position open in our Los Angeles office. The Lifestyle Editor is a versatile journalist, who through producing sophisticated content reaching varying voices, will move our audience to enhance or develop their individuality.

The Lifestyle Editor will bring in larger content concepts that create series opportunities, feature stories, feature interviews, and company-aligned editorial opportunities. The role will also work with the company's editorial director, communications and marketing, and creative content teams to discover and create opportunities that fit the brand voice and current areas under development.

This position is in the Los Angeles area.

The Dailies - Your Impact
• Produce all exciting daily lifestyle branded content that aligns with the culture and further promotes the company's goals to push the content into new territories such as: Wellness and Health (including mental health), Style and Beauty, Relationships, Personal Essays, Home, Food, Travel, and Books.
• Identify stories for the website that bring readers a sense of joy or are serviceable content pieces that provide readers with useful information that could make their lives better.
• Identify, source and pitch features, series or partnerships conceived of for the website.
• Collaborate with the editorial team on large-scale projects and editorial series.
• Work with freelance writers as well as staff writers on various assignments and pitched stories in the Lifestyle categories.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Qualifications- The Essentials
• Experience assigning, writing, and editing content for a diverse audience.
• Superb experience managing and working with writers. Ability to identify a range of new voices.
• Customer service skills, including producing clear, error-free correspondence and the ability to articulate strategies and solutions. Experience in service journalism preferred.
• Demonstrated experience working with editorial teams, communicating your vision, and understanding project limitations.
• High traffic and comfortable managing tight deadlines and developing project schedules and timelines.
• Understanding of content strategy and familiarity with web writing best practices.
• Excellent communication, relationship building, people management, and brainstorming skills.
• Outstanding editing and proofreading skills, including familiarity with editorial style guides.
• Experience with audience demographics and SEO, factoring in web content strategy.
• Bachelor's degree in English from an accredited college or university, communications, journalism, or related field desired. In lieu of the above, a bachelor's degree along with equivalent relevant work experience, required.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in journalism, publishing, or at an editorial operation. Experience managing editorial projects preferred.
• Knowledge and understanding of content across all verticals (lifestyle, books, travel, food, wellness, social impact, and beauty + style; etc.)
