GENERAL INFORMATION
DEPARTMENT: Digital Media
REPORTS TO: Senior Director, Digital Engagement & Content Strategy.
LOCATION: New York, NY
The Digital Media Content Coordinator will oversee a junior-level mixture of admin, editorial, and production needs for the entire Digital Media team.
As such, the incumbent may contribute to conceptualizing, developing, and producing engaging editorial and video content across all of Shondaland's digital channels while also maintaining a supportive team role that ensures necessary operations run efficiently across the department.
This role will contribute to Shondaland's broader digital strategy by executing or aiding in the production of high-quality digital content consisting of news, original series, editorial packages, and brand-supportive features that have cross-platform appeal depending on strategic needs.
Working closely with our Digital Content Managers, the Content Producer will write, assign, and edit editorial content as well as, when necessary, shoot and edit short-form video content that aligns with Shondaland's voice and values while strengthening the connection between Shondaland and its audience.
The incumbent will also aid in the management and organization of in-office video equipment (camera, lights, sound, etc.) for respective in-office video production.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Develop and execute editorial and video content with a strong narrative and creative flair in support of ABC content, Netflix content, consumer products, and the overall Shondaland brand, aligning with Shondaland's brand identity and voice.
• Pitch, produce, and write editorial features, profiles, listicles, and interviews for Shondaland.com, spotlighting Shondaland talent, shows, brand initiatives, and consumer products.Conduct written interviews and Q+As for Shondaland shows, covering diverse content related to entertainment, culture, and lifestyle.
• Assign and edit short-form, platform-optimized editorial content such as listicles, galleries, and news briefs that support day-to-day editorial cadence.
• On-hand to respond to and produce ''breaking'' type content: news, announcements, and other miscellaneous short-form content.
• Aid in production of high-quality video content, ensuring quick turnarounds and adherence to Shondaland's storytelling standards.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions for special editorial projects and digital series.
• Maintains responsibility for a variety of administrative functions including, contractive and invoicing, filing expense reports, supporting the NY office via managing packages, reporting snack/food needs when needed, and overseeing guests at SL offices.
• Maintains responsibility for digital operations such as building CMS stories, uploading and managing assets in CMS and DAM, updating homepage/section/subsection pages, and YouTube and video admin work
• Manages video set-up and inventory (cameras, lights, equipment, etc) in New York office.
• Additional responsibilities as necessary to meet current and evolving business goals
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Ability to generate fresh, innovative ideas that resonate with the Shondaland audience.
• Exceptional writing skills with ability to adapt to various formats (profile, Q&A, listicle, etc.) as well as adjust voice to brand tone and style while also maintaining a personal touch.
• Collaborative mindset and work process to help facilitate ideas that can come to life across editorial, video, and social.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects from conception through execution.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Able to thrive in a dynamic, evolving digital media landscape and respond quickly to new content opportunities.
• Passion for storytelling, content innovation, and the entertainment industry, with a deep understanding of Shondaland's brand and audience.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
• 3+ years of experience in content production, preferably within entertainment, media, or digital platforms.
• Strong editorial writing and reporting skills, with experience in writing for digital platforms and conducting interviews.
• Experience working within a fast-paced, creative environment with tight deadlines..
• The ability to be detail-oriented and thorough in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven success in prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across multiple parts of the organization.
