Job Description
Sesame Workshop is looking for a Senior Director, Compensation, Benefits & HR Operations. As an integral member of the Sesame Workshop's HR team, the Senior Director of Comp, Benefits and HR operations is both a strategic and hands-on leader who is responsible for the strategy and execution of US and international compensation and benefits programs. We are looking for a nimble and collaborative leader to partner closely with HR colleagues and business leaders to drive the organization's compensation & benefits strategy and programs as well as ensure streamlined and efficient HR processes. The person will report to the Chief HR Officer and manage a team of two.

The Senior Director will have specialized experience with all aspects of compensation and benefits, including expertise working on the integration of international and US programs, and contributing to the design of compensation and benefits philosophy and programs ideally in a global and progressive organization. The right candidate will have international compensation and benefits experience in many geographies, particularly with the Middle East, India, Bangladesh, South Africa, China and Latin America.

Specific responsibilities include:
• Owns the twice-yearly compensation and benefits administration process, working with HR Business Partners to ensure a thoughtful, comprehensive and equitable process to reward and retain talent
• Designs and maintains pay programs for the international offices in harmony with the US philosophy and programs
• Coordinates with the Director of Recruitment, recruiting team and HR Business Partners to ensure that our compensation practices are competitive and in line with market trends
• Evaluates, recommends and implements improvements to current HR processes to save time, cost and increase employee satisfaction
• Builds and maintains all aspects of salary, annual incentive, other reward programs along with health and welfare benefits
• Oversees the HRIS strategy to support domestic and international processes and manage appropriate vendor relationships, RFP processes, and implementations
• Works closely with HR Business Partners to deliver effective compensation and performance management tools and processes
• Supervises Compensation Manager in annual benchmarking of pay ranges and merit pools in each geography and recommends changes
• Oversees the Senior Manager of Benefits in plan design, vendor selection and negotiation for health and welfare plans, and works with Finance to analyze trends, control costs, and prepare budget
• Supports the CHRO to plan and prepare materials for the HR & Compensation Committee and Board of Directors, including compensation plans and programs and annual Intermediate Sanctions analysis
• Supervises the Senior Manager of Benefits and Manager of Compensation to develop employee communications for relevant audiences regarding comp & benefits information including annual benefits open enrollment, health and welfare information, and distribution of regulatory plan documents
• Develops HR metrics that are relevant to the business and provides leaders with information to make better decisions in all HR matters
• Collaborates with Legal colleagues to provide subject matter expertise in the areas of federal and/or state regulations affecting the administration of benefit and retirement plans including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, HIPAA, ACA, IRS and FLSA
• Provides outstanding leadership and mentoring to the Manager of Compensation and Senior Manager of Benefits and HRIS to optimize their deliverables and help them flourish in their professional development

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience / MA or MBA is a plus
• 8-10 years of HR experience leading a complex compensation & benefits function and team ideally in a global environment
• HR/SPHR and/or CCP certification preferred
• Demonstrated superior management and team development ability
• Excellent business acumen and analytical skills
• Strong project management skills
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate, problem-solve, and develop strong working relationships with HR colleagues and business partners
• Advanced Excel and HR systems skills and experience
• Previous experience with HR operations and HRIS systems
• Accurately manage and develop financials for compensation and benefits expenditure
• Comfortable working in a strategic and hands-on environment
