Job Description

Sesame Workshop is looking for a Manager, Benefits & HRIS. The Senior Manager will be responsible for Sesame Workshop's comprehensive benefits program and HRIS administration. Benefits responsibilities will include management and administration of health and ancillary benefit programs, billing, employee leaves and compliance. HRIS responsibility will include management of employee data from its origination, maintenance and use in internal and EEO reporting. The role will include managing vendor relationships, recommending and implementing process improvements and owning the annual open enrollment process. The person also will assist with special projects as needed. This position reports into the VP, Human Resources.

Job Responsibilities:

Benefits
• Manage benefit vendor relationships and programs to ensure compliance, quality, and overall experience
• Manage and implement processing of claim forms, life and disability insurance, and benefits billing and payments in a timely and accurate manner
• Partner with outside vendors to manage and administer the annual open enrollment process; shape employee communication and provide employee support
• Assist employees with questions related to health and welfare benefits
• Review and file mandatory reports with the government and information as is required by our auditors
• Interpret and administer Affordable Care Act regulations, paid leave programs and other similar programs in accordance with applicable federal, state and local employment laws
• Monitor compliance of formal policies and make appropriate recommendations on an ongoing basis
• In conjunction with the HR team, manage projects related to the implementation of new or updated federal, state or local benefits-related regulations

HRIS
• Update and audit employee data on an ongoing basis for accuracy and data integrity
• Oversee inputting new hire data and ensure ADP data integrity and ongoing maintenance
• Ensure intact and accurate file feed to HRIS and ongoing system data maintenance
• Ongoing internal demographic reporting
• Assist with annual and ongoing reporting requirements

Qualifications:
• 3-5+ years of benefits administration experience
• HR systems experience
• Familiarity with ADP is a plus
• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, in a related field preferred or equivalent experience
• Expertise with management and administration of domestic benefits and leave programs
• Understanding of applicable requirements, regulations, and federal and state laws relating to leaves of absence, reasonable accommodations and workers' compensation (e.g. FMLA, ADA, FEHA, PDL, etc.)
• Knowledge of benefit plan design, administration and management, ERISA, ACA, HIPAA and IRS regulations required
• Experience working with and managing multiple vendors, including brokers
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication and time management skills
• Ability to properly handle confidential and sensitive information and materials; understanding and application of HIPAA
• Ability to balance being a strong team player and working independently
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs, with strong Excel skills
